im in illinois, USA so anything older then 96. These cars excpet the monza, chevette, porsche and vega are fwd. I want to switch from either a 4 cylinder or v6 to a v8.
Actually only the Escort, Fiesta, Honda and Rabbit are FWD. All the rest are rear wheel drive. The Porsche 914 us mid-engine rwd. Although a couple of them would be difficult to put a V8 in. Some are unibody. But you seem to have chosen some type of truck so have at it and keep us informed of any progress towards reality. This becoming a ongoing project that is.
4wd offroad? What about a toyota 4 runner? Engine and reans switch for sure. Will the axles survives?
Maybe a landcruiser have better axles...
What about an xj cherokee ?

I personally think that a lifted lexus ls400 would be great
4wd truck LS swap? I'm thinking basically any old 3/4 ton or bigger truck. 3/4 ton for the already bigger axles. If it's a GM it'll probably be an easier swap, giving you the option of reusing the trans depending on what it is. Probably not terribly difficult on a Ford or Dodge. If you decide you don't do a 4wd, I still suggest an old truck. Ignore Two Tools, hot rod trucks are cool.
I saw a Delorean driving around yesterday so I came back here to find this thread and post that you should consider swapping an LS1 into one.
A Delorean that actually sounds like they made the one in "Back to the Future" sound would be amazing.
