Looking good!
UPDATE: just showing the fiberglass rear 5g pods better. I had to lower the front hole to the bumper bodyline as it sat much too high. it's all good now. I used carrieage bolts to attatch it. just a simple thing noting crazy. I didnt use rivets as they prolly woulda cracked the fibergalss pods. these came from Puerto Rico, about $45 shipped from a friend who can get more :)

I also picked up a Subaru outback turbo hood scoop that I wanna use as a heat extractor vent by flipping it 180deg. I cannot find any other nice looking and functional vents. one guy in Malaysia makes an EVO III hood for coupes but the latch location might be different as its for a proton and its $250 shipped from a country i have no guarantee id ever get the part :. I will see what I wanna do. prolly use the Scoobie vent lol. I already got it for $20.
Great build. I really dig the direction you are taking this and look forward to seeing how you set up the hood extractor. If you haven't seen it, Autospeed has a really good tech article on diy aerodynamics.
The extractor is a great idea, especially with the turbo up front. Looks like it can be fit to look really nice. I really enjoy this thread.
Thx guys. I will look that up. I placed it where it should be most effective. Gonna rivet it in the rear once its all sorted fully. Its 95% finished. See below :)
MORE CHANGES!:
Rally wiper mod is done. Too much drag at 120mph with two. They come up after 120 and flip arpund at 140. Much better and still rain friendly. :)
Wheels went satin black. I needed a change. Im loving the new look. Very pleased. Rotor rust was painted over and calipers will need more red paint applied soon.
Subaru scoop is on. Turned out well. I need to do some minor cutting of the support so the scoop isnt flexing on it. No biggy. You can really feel the heat coming out of it. Im sure it will assist in lowering under hood temps and pressures. I cobered the leading edges in 1500deg heat tape to prevent melting.
Support is all redone so it clears. Retaped it and its on again. The old 3m tape was really hard to get off. I will prolly rivet it on there soon. Just to be sure
It suddenly hit awesome level with the black wheels and scoop. Finally about where i wanted it and what i envisioned.
Vent is race car bolted on :) upload a picture screenshot software
Peel and sealed the entire radiator and fmic so air is rammed in via fmic. $16 cheater mod. screen capture

It actually used to have black mirrors. I ditched them for the folding red ones. I much prefer them...but the door frame used to be red so i never saw them in a black frame either.
As soon as i sell an old rifle kit online i will be using a tiny bit for a nice acromann windshield banner. Should really make for a nice look.
Nothing big can happen for a bit as i am going to college and I need to save what I can.....unless I get that federal grant and then i might just have to get some Coilovers and evo III rear trailing arms.
Cleaned up the rad support tabs, intake and engine bay area. Went to a car meet and parked with my buddy :)
Great progress man. Loved the hood vent. I was going to suggest Trans Am scoops flipped around (like i did) but your looks better.
Mitsubishi Owners Day, 2015 :)
car is semi hibernating out back at parents for the winter. I drive it once a month and check on it. Trans started popping out of 5th in boost, but then it didnt do it last time. I am assuming it doesnt like HI-speed pulls anymore LOL. The car pulls so hard and so well that I kinda um....run out of gear before i realize how fast I am going. it's probably unsafe lol. I need 0 more HP. I only need traction.
if anyone knows where I can find a set of Kosei 16x8 4x100 wheels...lemme know. That's my dream setup. a nice 225/45 would do wonders!
I don't have a 16x8 Kosei, but if it's worth the drive for you, I'm about to take off my new this year 225/45/16 R1R's for snow tires. I'll be running an 18" wheel for the summer now, so if you're interested, I'll make you a deal! I'm in NW Ohio, so it's not a bad drive.
Looking good - what kind of hp and what kind of vehicle weight?
Get the last runs in before the white death and associated salt happen. Had El Rabbito out this morning at Cincy's Cars N Coffee..

Id say 300-350 whp. It weighs 2200lbs with no rear seat.
Welp...i hit a baby deer on friday with my Fiesta ST so i had to take the summit up 3hrs north to college on sunday. I got 30mpg mostly highway and im really happy with that! I never tried before.
I just put in new 195/60r15 firestone winterforce tires and this will be a snow car for at least a month. Its not rust free so no biggy. I will wash it weekly. These tires are AMAZING!
Just a quick update ;)
Great build man, really!! I am not even a dsm guy, although I always thopught mated to a t-5 in a rwd settup they would be a real hoot.
Cool to see what you have done to a cool tiny car.
Funny as i was reading the thread I saw a bunch of places I recognize, I live in Kennett, small world.

Wow kennett...yeah im always around there with the car when i am home. Def a small world.
So the ST is supposed to be done next week. I am stilly dailying the Summit LOL. pretty much a blast. Starts every day and i have put a good amount of miles on it so far...to include 6 miles of gravel @45mph :D.
Rear wing is off for a bit. Getting used to it and i get less issues with people wanting to race me with it off lol.
Some current pics.

I am glad to see im not the only person who has done what I call the "rally wiper mod" which is just reclocking the passenger wiper to wipe evenly across the whole windshield and using the largest blade that will fit and still stay on the windshield.
I very much approve! <img src="/media/img/icons/smilies/cool-18.png" class="smiley" alt=""
