That brings us to today. I was fortunate enough to come home from Denver to 50* weather. The car was "washed" with the foam gun and AMMO foam soap. It pulled the trace amounts of dirt off of the car, Going to do a full rinse/wash/dry next week (supposed to get rain this weekend).

I took the car for a little drive around the neighborhood, as most of the salt has washed away. Luckily, I kept the car free of snow and started it 3x per week to bring it to temperature. Next week I am getting an oil change and replacing the brake/clutch fluid. My girlfriend and I are driving to Columbus during the end of the month for a concert, and are hoping to take a drive to Hocking Hills State Park. Apparently, there are some great driving roads out that way (thanks Jack Baruth).

Unfortunately for me, half of the HVAC lights burned out. There are a few places offering a "fix" service. It would require the car not having HVAC for about a week. I may wait until June when I know I will be out of town and thus not driving the car. It will soon go back to "nice day" DD duty. I put in for a transfer at work which will put me ~5 miles from work (as opposed to 20), so that would work out very well.

Other plans are to hit an AutoX or two this summer, depending on work schedule. The Detroit Grand Prix has a special "corral" for Corvettes with hospitality, etc. which I'd like to take advantage of. My dad used to take me to the hospitality tents/suites as a kid when he worked for Goodyear and Penske. I'd like to return the favor to him this year.

Not modifications on the imminent horizon. I plan on replacing/upgrading things as required. Really, my plans are no different than when I bought the car. I just was too busy enjoying the thing to worry about small modifications, and worked too much to get to a Corvette Club of Michigan event. Hopefully this year will be different!

I will get into more detail later, but more work will be done on the foxbody in the coming months. I'm trying to put together something for my grandfather to enjoy. He's always wanted a Mustang, and it has become sort of a project we're working on together. He never had a truly "cool" car, and wants something to cruise with me in.

What tires did you buy? Also, how do you like them so far?

Cool car, fyi it's pretty flippin easy to replace the hvac bulbs. Pop it out and they are in the back. Something like 14 bulbs just do them all at once.

Bridgestone RE760s in stock sizes. Wanted Rivals. Got a great deal on these from a buddy who works at the local distributor. They're not bad. Didn't hook as well as the Toyos, but then again I was comparing fall temperatures on the 760s to the T1Rs in summer heat. Wet and cold weather performance aren't bad however.

Thanks! From the write-ups I saw online, it looks as though the bulbs are soldered into the PCB of the HVAC unit. I'm not really into blinding myself with LEDs, so I'd like to keep it stock if at all possible. While I'm decent with a soldering iron (my friend did COMSAT repair in the Army, he's even better), I just don't want to be out the $400 if something goes wrong. If they're easy to replace, I may give it a go.

Did pads/rotors two weeks ago. I was in a rush to get the car ready for a trip and forgot to paint the rotor hats. Now my wheel cleaner has them looking rusty. Planning on painting them and the caliper brackets over winter. Also had the brakes/cluch flushed and bled with fresh ATE TYP 200.

My grandfather is from the Corbin, KY area. He's getting up there in age and wanted to attend our family reunion "one more time" as the drive is extremely hard on his knees.

I pitched the idea of taking the Z06 on a "guy's trip" from Detroit to Kentucky, and stopping at the NCM on our way home. We went this past Friday-Sunday. I tried to squeeze in a stop @ Proteam in Napoleon, OH on the way down, but we left quite early.

Put 1200 miles on my Z06 this weekend. That marks over 14000 since last June. Wouldn't consider owning anything else.
