Swap is done for the most part with the exception of the weather strip channels for the a-pillars and some adjustments on the door glass. Happy with how it all turned out
just got the notification that the channels and spacers showed up in the mail today. These are convertible channels which are a bit shorter than ttop ones. Going to attempt tig welding the cut off top section I've got onto the convertible one. Spacers are genuine t-top tho
I've also got some boring stuff coming in the mail like weatherstripping or the windows n such that should be waiting for when I get back from up north.
Dude!!!! this turned out AWESOME!!!!
Update:
So the Mustang has been good, basically relegated to daily driver duties over the summer. The t-tops leak, no surprise but Im still struggling with the door window alignments and the fact the aftermarket t-top seals are poor fitting junk
The wifes Astre, is painted now. But since painting we havent touched it. We are currently trying to decide if we want to keep going with it or sell it and put money into her 1995 K1500 with a 4.8L swap. So this project is stalled for now
A restarted project is my first car, a 1995 Bronco build has been restarted. Its going to be basic build tho, pre-runner style bumpers, new rear quarter panels. Headers and Cam into the 351. last driven it had a clutch/throwout bearing issue.
And lastly Causin-Havoc has decided to go circle track racing so I've started a completely new blog for that build here

The Bronco will probably get a bit of attention over the next couple months but with these damn northern winters working out in the snow kind of sucks. But parts are being ordered to get that one rolling soon as well
Good move running those Trans-Dapt style front engine mounts on the Astre, perfectly locates the engine and trans in the car. We swapped a 327/Saginaw four speed into the Vega and used those same mounts, made everything MUCH easier !
In reply to MuSTANK :
the mounts were great, I wish though when building the car was that we chose not to attempt jamming the 700r4 into it. Damn thing barely fits and even after hammering the heck out of the transmission tunnel it still is incredibly tight. How did you mount an alternator on yours?
In reply to Rushcanuck :
i love the color on that Astre!
