Anyone know if its feasible to put a crossflow head on a Tavria 1.3 engine? I believe the engine code is MEMZ 3071. In researching i see some references to this engine having been manufactured by daewoo and that some variants might have come with a GM automatic. I can't get very far because the relevant info is in russian. Apparently this was manufactured in Ukraine, where i now live. I just bought this 2010 Zaz Tavria 11055 pickup. Its got a primitive efi system. Id like to do a dohc turbo setup on this short block if possible.

Oh I like that!
I don't have much knowledge on GM/Daewoo engines, but 1.3L is what we received in the US in the Geo Metro & Suzuki Swift. It's been a long time since I looked underhood in one, but I believe they had a crossflow head. Of course the 16v twin cam was the hot engine in those.

I was doing a bit of reading on Wikipedia & it seems it would have the MEMZ 3071 engine. Unfortunately they make it seem like that is a Ukrainian engine design & unrelated to anything Daewoo or GM.
Regarding your desire to turbo it, I'm sure you could work up a system for it, though finding a service manual for that engine & vehicle would take a lot of the guesswork & research out of it.
I think a Megasquirt system would run everything. You'd probably need larger injectors, a larger fuel pump, and/or some way to get more fuel into the engine when it's under boost. A small OE intercooler off any number of factory turbo cars should be relatively cheap to find on eBay or elsewhere & have shipped to you & you could piece together the related piping & couplers pretty easily that way too.
I'm guessing there are probably repair shops nearby who could modify or build an exhaust for the turbo.
Then you just need to either find someone to tune it, or learn to do it yourself.
