I did end up replacing the OE Ford door pull/arm rest combo with some simple straps to allow both arm rests to be used on the GC seats. The passenger side is mounted a bit further forward than driver to allow for a nice comfortable nap recline position.
I also have a problem with dinking around with cosmetics instead of doing useful work. Decided to spray the hood satin black, think it turned out pretty decent for Rustoleum thinned with acetone out of a $14 HF gun.
Fun Econonline fact: the hood is fiberglass.
