Sounds like some kind of Swill sex thing...

The wagon is a 86 I believe? How do I recognize a "Squirter"?

Pete

They weren't a thing in North America until ~'92.  On the oil filter side of the block, there's a raised oil passage in the casting, and little bumps above it to feed oil to piston oil squirters.

Havent read the whole thread - is this is a C head motor or B head motor? If you have the eaton style blower, it should be a C head motor, but earlier it looked like you had a Lincoln style intake on it.

either way, if you dont need the Lincoln intake anymore, please let me know as I might be interested in acquiring it from you.

The parts going into this come from a Tardis-like storage shed of Ford parts. The blower set-up is home-made air-water from who knows what. Rest of the drivetrain is from a Lincoln.

Bolted in to stay.

I hope

The only casualty will be the hood. Just a bit too much bulge in the blower to clear the tin. So hood scoop it is. I might be tempted to not cut the hood until the blower system is proven to be working as intended. Can always go back to the Lincoln manifold that does clear the hood in that situation.

The Autotragic box seems to be a bit thicker in the bell housing area than the 5 speed. Mustang Pete had to have a concentrated conversation with the mini sledge and all was good. Fits with room to spare now.

Not that this is practical I am sure, but if you dry-sumped the engine would the blower fit under the bonnet?

If that is a B-head motor (93-'97 Lincoln Mark VIIIs, pre-'99 Lincoln Continentals, and '96-'98 Cobras), I  would be extremely interested in details about the intercooler setup...

In reply to Apexcarver :

Its complicated.

To me, mod engines are divided into 2 categories:

2 cam=junk and 4 cam=cool looking. Nuances in between or beyond are lost on me.

The intercooler is homemade and resides under the blower in the huge valley. It is an air to water system. Motorcycle radiators, pony fuel tank and a pump from an escort conspire to create the rest. Made from stuff in the shop and a lot of welding. Mustang could provide more details, but he has been unable to get back on the board for the last two years for some reason, so he can't. Is there a secret to creating a password on this forum? Seems to be the dealbreaker. as the system keeps asking for a "Valid password" when he tries to create a new account.

Any chance you could pass him my email?   Apexcarver at Gmail dot com

Yeah, theres a ton of nuance to all the 4V stuff.  They really are awesome motors, but not quite as lego-like as other options.

He should see the e-mail. Mustang checks the thread, he just cant get an account set-up for some reason.

Try pinging one of the Mods in this thread:  https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/off-topic-discussion/report-canoes-spammers-here-or-request-moderator-a/78841/page1

And see if they have a path he can take to reset the password, recreate the account, etc?

Last night was fun.

The Challenge 760 is the car that just keeps giving.

Mustang tracked down the person to whom we sold the Challenge Volvo rolling shell. It still had the full exhaust and driveshaft that we figured never to need. Guess what?

$80 Cnd later, and there is a driveshaft and full exhaust in the shop. The driveshaft bolted right in place. The transmission mount is also from the 760, it bolted directly to the 740 chassis and the Lincoln transmission mount drop r ight in place needing only two holes to attach.

The exhaust just needs the PS downpipe tweaked to fit the Lincoln exhaust manifold. The rest fits perfect. Odd that the 760  IRS specific exhaust fits the stick axle 740, but not gonna complain. Driveshaft and exhaust were the last big pieces of the puzzle. Work now moves to some hydraulic plumbing for power steering, hand the engine wiring harness that is already made and getting the engine to run.

thats my car. im mustang pete.been off the board for a hella long time but now somehow i can log in again lol

its possibly gonna get fired this weekend....done an insane amount of work on it and its ready to hit the key and do the first live fire test.first will be the fuel system, see if that aeromotive 340 can flood the shop and how long it'll take.after that its a quick run of power tests to the EEC and the trans, and then crank it live for the first time.once i figure out how to post photos ill update, suffice to say it looks FRIGGIN EPIC in there,as does the rest of the car.custom instrument pod with all the boosty stuff,NAV etc etc,one minor mod to the exterior, thing is still pretty sleepery looking overall

any tips on photo postings?

oh i have 5 years of development into these things lol....got a similar engine in a 99 F150,just with a lightning blower instead of the cobra piece.i now have a set of C heads too(way easier to deal with) but ido have the B head thing worked out.used a GT500 Roush cooler on the Volvo with a modded ebay piece on the truck, its actually better than the Roush one as it flows right through,so double the core area really

once i get the photo thing in hand i has maybe 500 pics of the process
