about 3 years ago i bought this out of my buddys junk yard

with the intention to use it as a donor for an AD build down the road, that's still my plan

however, we recently put our house on the market and could use a truck for the cleaning/moving etc process and it's just nice to have one in general

my father and step father both have trucks a phone call and five minutes away but i like the idea of having one i can use whenever and have tied up for more than a couple hours when needed

decided that if i could do it for less than $500 i'd put this beast on the road til i take it apart, hopefuly this winter

My dad had one of those and I learned to drive stick in it. Great little truck. Took a beating at my hands and kept coming back for more.

step 1 was to evaluate the truck to determine if it could reasonably be put on the road

after jumping it and getting it to run for a couple minutes it ran out of gas, we dragged and pushed it into the shop

looked underneath and didn't see anything bad so the plan is to move forward

when the truck was running a couple years ago (and saturday) it had a bad miss and a bad oil leak

job one will be a tune up and to replace the oil pressure switch, which appears to be the culprit for the oil leak
