As rough as the body is (Still great compared to many!) The engine swap has to be done first to help with motivation.

OK, Geo engine is going into a sandrail, sammy trans to MI.
I have a 1098 and ribcase for the Morris, they bolt right in.
Running out of time for doing things the hard way.

A running stock Morris Minor is a perpetual project. Everything that breaks or wears out is available, and to keep the volume of parts sales up the quality of the repro parts is god awful except for engine and gearbox internals.

I, too, have a morris minor project that has stalled out for about 15 years.  Ugh....

Mine is not stalled, I am gathering parts.
It does have to wait until the Europa is on the road.
There is a slim chance it may end up with a T5 trans.
Pretty sure no A Series on earth could break a T5.

Good to see this is moving forward, no matter the engine.

What prompted the change in direction? Wouldn't a T5 conversion take about the same amount of fabrication?

T5 would not require as much work.
No change in engine mounts, radiator, etc. and would appear stock.
I may find a 1275 for it.
Since the T5 has a removable bell the thought is to cut a T5 bell and a Rib-Case trans.
Weld the pieces for a "Simple" adapter.
Common way to go down under.
My Morris is a PU, so it has an actual frame and removable cross member.
