My new 95 Miata HPDE car had some quirks from the PO. Currently there is a puller fan wired in line with the windshield wipers. Which might be cool except that the wipers don't work.

Here are some shots under the hood can y'all help me A) get the wipers working B) figure out if I need this Fan (Keith suggested I didn't) C)identify these other open connectors

Here's the windshield motor and is missing something. You can see the pink wire that goes to the fan.

Here's the puller fan.

Then on the drivers side are these two connectors that aren't connected to anything. What do they do?

Thanks for your time and Miata knowledge.

The connector for the wiper motor is inside the tape near the wiper motor. Pull the tape off, remove the red wire and plug in the connector to the wiper motor.

No idea why there is an extra fan. Your AC is not connected so cooling should not be a problem. Does the factory fan work?

In reply to NOHOME :

I'm not sure the factory fan remains.

I took off the tape and found the wire hotwired to the wiper motor 12V.

Unplugged it and put the connector back to the motor and I've got wipers!

I would like a switch or the fan to come on when the temperature goes to a certain point.

Good to hear that the wiper was an easy solution. wish mine were that easy! That terminal on the wiper plug is always hot, however, I cant see it wanting to supply the power that the fan is going to pull.

Any idea why the puller fan replacement was not wired using the Miata fan wiring at the front of the engine?

All Miata fans  are pullers. A car without AC only has one, on the driver side. Someone put a second one in that looks pretty stock, but wired it poorly.

I have an instruction set at work that tells you how to do this properly.  Iirc it’s not that hard on a 1.8, you add a new relay for a 1.6. You use the existing fan as a trigger for the other.

1.6 wiring, also works on a 1.8.
