Definitely looks like a lot of slipping based on the wear, discoloration, and the what looks to be heat cracking on the outer edge of the flywheel.

That is definitely interesting, but I need to get this one back together before thinking of any other projects.
This one is more of a maintenance and repair to get back to original performance with improved reliability.
Hmm...I wonder if I can talk the Mrs into a second Mini as a project to modify🤔
