Yes, and is blessed with possibly the strongest FWD transmission known to man.
V6 manual Solaras also exist.
They use an updated (slight gearing differences and better synchros, including a triple-cone 3rd gear) version of the MR2 Turbo transmission.

I wouldn't say they're key... any trans that came in the MK2 MR2 will bolt up. They're just a little nicer than what was available in the SW20.
True, but isn't the flywheel or something a requirement? It's been a while, but I remember reading something in either the TwoBrutal or MR2OC forums about how everyone doing a Mk2 V6 conversion was always searching for some hard-to-find part that only came on the manual Camrys and Solaras.
Probably flywheel. I think there's an aftermarket option out there, so i'd just use that. Lighter is better!
This is a pretty cool project. I would have preferred using the inline-4 but I am probably in the minority. Will be watching the build.
my buddy owns an older Camry with a 5-speed and 150,000 miles.......should I ask if he wants to sell?
I see a whole new racing series being spawned out of this: Spec Family Sedan.
Mid-sized FWD 4-door sedans. You can have two flavors, SFS for 4-bangers, and SFS Super for the V6 models. Eligible cars include Camry, Accord, Taurus (old), Altima, etc.
Its either that or the Mini-Van Challenge.

Please, please, PLEASE paint it beige and then spank a sports car with it. The humor value would be epic.

They exist, but their purpose for existence is to donate their engine and transmission to MR2s.
Just did my first major work session on the car:
1) New window regulator ($100) to fix intermittent non-working one.
2)New headlights (60/pair) to replace yellowed ones
3) cleaned out oil pan and pick up ($10 for new gasket) to stop flickering oil light. Really crudded up--but now clean.
4) added Moroso oil accumulator to keep 1MZ happy in the future ($300 w/ sandwich adapter) and a fresh load of sythetic oil ($50)
Pics on Monday when I am back in the office.
