To get the flares mirrored from side to side you can use the technique of cutting several profiles to compare left to right. Make them from something fairly solid. Cardboard will probably be enough for this project. Mark them so that they align some non-modified body feature like hooking up and over the fender edge. Make several spaced a few inches apart so you can transfer the profile in tow directions. Kind of making an outside buck in sections to check the fit.

That's kinda what I was thinking, thanks!
I'm also open to stylistic advice. Currently thinking I'm gonna mostly eliminate the vertical flat section, down to a centimeter or so, and taper the ends much more aggressively
I think they look great so far! I had a similar vision for mine.
I'd just go buy some Ebay fiberglass flares and glass them in to the Europa body. There are all kinds of widths available for under $200.
I don't particularly like this style for the rear ....are you going to do similar to your fronts?

yeah my plan is to go to round wheel openings all around, I think it looks a lot better than the rounded rectangle that it came with. I think your second picture is what I've had in my head for the most part
I've got a while to mess with it and figure out what I want, as it won't be warm enough to fiberglass outside for a while, and since my garage space is directly under the master bedroom, I don't think my fiancee would enjoy being hotboxed with polyester resin fumes
working on the rear, probably another application of foam and a rasping. I like this, it's pretty fun
Looking good! Having just done this, I recommend Packing tape over the foam to smooth out the finish and make it easier to remove the foam later. Also, the fumes are not very strong but I don't know how sensitive Fiance's nostrils are.

Thanks for the tip! Did you do any sort of filler on top or just packing tape on the foam then pull a mold?
pretty happy with the shape, probably gonna call it here and let it sit for a little while to see if anything I need to change comes to me
Looks good from here Gixx!
Found a couple of the Matchbox Lotus Europas at Walmart, one for me and one for my dad. Too bad it's a twin cam instead of an S2, maybe I can modify it to match my car
You should be able to! I found one at the dollar store.

I didn't end up making proper molds, I just glassed it to the car and then pulled the foam out. If you're doing it the right way though, filler would be prudent but likely not 100% necessary. I did use some wet clay in spots that needed more smoothing and definition.
In reply to More Tools Than Sense :
That sounds a bit easier, I doubt I'd be making more than one set to justify a real mold
Fiancée is out of town, that means I can do some fiberglass lamination in the attached garage
at some point I'd like to build a pole barn shop , I've got plenty of space for it. Then I wouldn't have to worry about disturbing people with noise or fumes

You are playing your cards wrong.
I got to build my detached shop BECAUSE of the noise and smells I was creating in the attached garage/shop.

That's a good point, I'm seeing a problem where I should be seeing an opportunity
The fenders came off the mold fine, so that's nice. Next is to transfer the flares to the other side
