I'm supposed to post a thread before I actually have the car, right? Makes sense. I am excite. I'm importing an e30 wagon. This is more than I've ever spent for a car.

Tiny engine. Auto trans. Totally opposite of anything I ever buy. But I don't care. I've wanted an e30 wagon since I found out they existed ~10 years ago. Which was just a little bit after buying a coupe.

I say I have no plans for it and it will stay stock but we all know that's a terrible lie. I hope I can refrain and just manual swap it for now but I'm sure it'll end up with an engine swap.

Also, I won't see it for at least a month. The shipping company says a 28 day route from the UK to Tacoma, Wa where I live. And they leave every 14 days. Brutal.

Cool! I do not love the e30 wagons, but can see their appeal. That one looks in great shape!

How easy is it to find an e30 at a junkyard over there nowadays? They have been gone from here, but I was just at one last week and they have a full manual G260 swap.

Love, love, love.

I'm starting to see more and more of these pop up for sale in the US. It excites me.

They're pretty non existent around here. Every couple of months I'll get a notification from row52 that one of the few junkyards will get one in but it's picked over quickly. Most of the stuff I get is from a select group that part out junkers.

In reply to AxeHealey :

The same guy selling this has an e36 wagon that I was really tempted to pickup just to resell but this is my first importing and I want to see how it all shakes out.

Curious how you do on the importing, there are a few things I would probably pick up if i was familiar with the process and confident I could pull it off without issue

That's kind of been my biggest hangup so far. My unfamiliarity of the importation process. But we'll see. Somehow it was cheaper to get it shipped from the UK to Washington (where I live) than from the UK to California. Which is weird. I also have a TWIC card and work on port so pickup may be easier for me, who knows.

It's gorgeous!  Euro wagons are amazing cars.  They are so common in Europe too, but so rare here.  I really enjoyed my wife's A6 wagon for a long time.  I'd love to have an RS wagon someday but it's probably not in the cards (budget and space).

That is a very pretty car. Congratulations! Hopefully time goes by quickly for it to arrive!

I love these and Volvo 740 wagons. So much boxy RWD goodness.

If its coming from the UK is it RHD too? Or is it a continental car that has made its way to the UK?

This is one of the few ways I could be tricked into owning a euro again.

I got an email today with the ship and arrival dates. I won't see it until October 19th. Ugh. I'm too impatient for that.

Oh it's LHD. I've driven some rhd stuff but it's just not my thing. I'm not coordinated enough to switch quickly in my brain. I'd probably try shifting with the door handle.
