brake lines run. Intake made. Radiator, hoses, steam vent, and overflow in.
Idler arm rebuild kit with bearings instead of bushings is here so steering rebuild can happen.
have to switch out the shifter detent on the column to add the 2 extra gears
waiting on exhaust manifold flanges so I can weld some pipes. Idk what I'm doing there yet. Have some pipes and mufflers and stuff and know it's going to be side exit in front of the wheels, but not sure if I want it out one side or both.
getting close.

At least you are doing this in your grosh while I deal with mensa's at the office sporting major attitude and look forward to a hotel room with no A/C oh yeah baby ....all in a day DUDE.....peace out
shifted left muffler forward to keep the fuel filter/regulator cool and happy. Normally I'd mount that way farther back but the 4 link hardware takes up a lot of real estate.
very happy with the exhaust especially for being made entirely out of stuff off the shelf. Years of keeping mandrel bends, flanges, etc paid off. Put in 2 o2 bungs on each side, extras are for an innovate wideband setup once I figure out if it needs the 4.2 or 4.9 sensors and find some change under the front seat
In reply to Patrick :
The 4.2 sensor connector is a lot larger than the 4.9. About the difference between a quarter and a half dollar, he said while not using the Metric system. I am pretty sure the LC-1 uses a 4.2 and anything after that might use the 4.9.
Very fortunately, Ford and Hyundai use the 4.9 sensors so there are all sorts of lengths to be had. I have a Hyundai something or other sensor in the black RX-7 because it is only 12" long and I could just drill a hole in the chassis rail and snap the connector tree in. No need for zip ties.

well done. i would have used the radius of a small vs large florida tangerine, but not everyone has access to florida tangerines.
Water pump bad, lots of other stuff good.
Are the wood risers original? Or did the previous owner need to raise the seat height.
In reply to eastpark :
Original owner was a very small lady. I wouldn't have gone this deep if it weren't for needing to remove the wood blocks and get the seat to a reasonable height.
Expounding on previous post. Was at a train earlier moving Pete's toolboxes to his new job. The passenger rear seat track mount needs rebuilt in the floor. The driver's side isn't as bad but needs fixed. There's one hole mid door on passenger side at rocker and one driver's side under the back seat just forward of the wheelwell. All this is pretty simple and should be easy and quick and not derail me much. I'm planning to finish cleaning the glue off the floor later and start making the patches.
evening edit:
got the sill trim and cover off the drivers side and have similar holes to passenger side. I'm not stressed, the only structural patch is the seat mount area. Wire wheeled everywhere, vacuumed it all up, and sprayed with ospho then painted the rest of the floor, so when I make my patches I'll just have to paint those areas and put a carpet kit on the way down the road list. Feels like by the time I cut the rust out the rear seat mounts will be rebuilt on both sides. I'm definitely going function over pretty here as idgaf what the floor looks like under the seat as long as there are no holes.
new water pump came today and Pete will be able to help me with tuning.

Can't wait for the maiden voyage :D
Any videos with the completed exhaust by any chance?
In reply to Piguin :
Not yet, want to get the water pump changed and fill the radiator before any sustained run time.
drivers side seat mount area was easy:
passenger side not so much:
just ordered the seat mount plate and floor brace. The body mount brace needs a 4" long piece remade, which is no problem. I can do that while I wait for the other pieces, therefore I called it a day. Also ordered a new front u joint for the driveshaft because the plug in the yoke is leaking fluid so I've got to pull it again anyway. May as well replace the joint while I'm taking stuff apart.
Passenger floor repair stuff supposed to come friday. Today I changed out the bad water pump and did this

Plan to tackle the driveshaft yoke leak and u joint plus the front brakes before Friday because I have help then, so would love to get the brakes bled when I have assistance. once it's got the mechanicals and underside repair done and painted, it can come off the lift when I have time. I'm hoping to have the lift free to help same friend(long time grm OG maroon92) do some 911 maintenance
In reply to Piguin :
Agree. These are the first batch of summit racing branded chambered mufflers. They've been on my shelf for many years waiting for the right car.
acquiring some oval exhaust pipe soon and may see if I can shoot it out in front of the wheels, but for now it's good enough. There are some rust holes at the back edge of the trunk floor so would love to get the fumes out from under the car eventually.
In reply to Patrick :
Seems kinda lumpy....what's in it for a cam? I have an interest in what kind of noises you can get from an LS, you understand.
In reply to DeadSkunk (Warren) :
A comp cam of unknown part number because I didn't want to take the rear plate off to read the back of the cam. I got it from a guy who got it from a guy who ran it in a 67 camaro, then ran it in my impala. It's a great runner, no idea what's inside other than I verified it's their cam and valvetrain combo. Snuck my camera in far enough to see the pushrods and had the front cover off to check the timing set which is also a comp cams piece. It's a 98 block with center bolt heads so someone has definitely been deep inside it. It runs way too good to tear down for detective work. I wish you could still sniff an LS1 for the pittance I gave for this one.
Making cleanup progress on the garage for your car too, once the carpentry/contracting tools are cleaned up and organized and I make the sand rail go away we're good to go.
