In reply to Jaynen :

Probably just indicative of needing a valve cover gasket. Check the pcv system as well and make sure everything is working ok.

While you have the cover off, you should probably change the cam position sensor O-ring. Those tend to leak oil on the heater hoses.

Changed the map sensor out this morning and the CEL is gone. So one step closer to street legality

Check both airbags to make sure they are actually connected, and actually airbags. If you need a pair to plug in to rest, let me know.  I ain't that far from you after all.

There was definitely an airbag in the NB wheel I removed it and put the plug i linked above into it and then put it back unplugged but its blinking the same as before so not a different error or whatever

Car has paper plates need to reset all the drive readiness stuff to get it tested. Ordered a new AC and PS belt, valve cover gasket, cam o seal thing, and heater core hoses.

Do I need to drain the radiator to change the heater core hoses? Probably do an oil change anyway but same thing with the valve cover gasket I assume it doesn't need to be drained since its just the top of the motor

Yes. Drain radiator.

Flush system with a hose while you are at it. Amazing amount of E36 M3 came out of all 3 of mine.

Changed the plugs and plug wires found oil in some of the cylinder further indication I need to do the valve cover gasket which I did already order

On a Miata you don't really need to drain the radiator nor the oil to do either repair. However, I'd recommend a coolant change if you are unsure of its history. These cars don't have great cooling systems so I think anything you can do to help is worth it. Check the plastic of the radiator as well...if it's turned brown it is likely a time bomb.

Hardtop and rollbar acquired as well as seat and mounting brackets a la harddog. Hoping the bolt to floor bracket, and hard dog hardcore hardtop is plenty for passing broomstick test

Car just returned from its first event. I felt like it acquitted itself well and reminded me again why Miata's are some much awesome. This event was a two day event at VIR which is an amazingly beautiful course. Day 1 was Full Course, Day 2 was Grand course
