Blame it on winter,  boredom or some mental defect, but I bought Skorb's Metropolitan; picking it up next weekend.  I'm excited but this wouldn't happen without Stampie's help.  I travel to Philly instead of Raleigh.  =~ )

I was hashing over  an engine choice when I saw THIS!  Guy lives in Brooklyn, got three bikes with Mechanics' Lean on them.  Two R bikes and the K-1200.  My son got hold of him as everything I did failed.  He wanted $1000 for it, they settled on $800.  Cruise the ad, the bike is ONE BLOCK away from Ian's house!  FYeah.

 $500 + $800 = $1300, - stuff I'm selling off; maybe this can be done.

Personally, I'd be looking reeeeeeelly hard for a running Miata, with every pannel beat to hell. Get it cheap. The wheelbases are only 2 inches apart.

Whatever you do, don't drop that BMW. Insurance routinely writes them off if that fairing gets damaged, it's hugely expensive. Otherwise a great bike, once it's rolling. Top heavy and difficult to ride slowly, like in traffic. Otherwise, beautiful.

Presumably you plan to power that Nash with it?

Presumably.  The tupperware is in good shape, never been down.  I can get a key from a Stealerrship (or other places) using the VIN.

My K-100rs at full boil sounded GREAT!  Hoping for a fun project.

NY has annual inspections, bike hadn't been on the road since 2005.   It's a 1998 with 23,000 miles.

Very jealous. I've been looking for a good K1200 engine donor for a long time Have fun with this, Dan!

Quick update:

As usual, nothing happens as fast as it should.  The Nash is up on stands, all wheels are now free to rotate and the interior is empty.  Yesterday I pulled the engine & tranny out, all went well until that pesky ground strap on the transmission was hiding and making me crazy!

I got $128 for the scrap metal, yes I kept the receipt.

I started disassembling the K Bike.  Removed all the tupperware for resale.  Because it was a mechanics' lien purchase, it has no Title or keys.  Quite proud of removing the key barrel, disabling it and reassembling it AND it still functions.  I have a drawer full of spoon handles left over from Ian's art project.  So J-B Welded a spoon handle in the key hole.  Beautiful.  Thankfully the gas tank is plastic, the plan is to use the BMW  tank mounted in the truck because it has the fuel pump and gas gage sender inside.

Two 6 X 12" radiators, an oil cooler and no stinking mice in the air box!!   Time for a beer.  =~ )

That Nash kicked my shiny for two days in a row. Hope you beat it into submission.

Tired of tripping over the V6 Ford turbo, tried selling it for $150, even the Scammers ignored me.  It's gone to the scrapper.  With that, the brass Met radiator, silly Brit engine-tranny; I'm $269.75 off from the budget.

Rut-Roh.

Found window washer fluid in the radiator & block, hopefully it wasn't run.
