Figured it made more sense to just track progress here, instead of individual threads in the main forum.

For those that have missed the other few threads, '23 BRZ Limited, Ignition Red, manual, STi short throw shifter. Ordered on April 26th, took delivery Sept 3rd.

Picked the car up from the detailer today. Proper ceramic coated. Did PPF on the front bumper and headlights, and replacing the factory PPF behind that little rocker flourish in front of the rear wheel with a much larger and thicker piece. Before that clay bar, machine polish, install PPF, then ceramic coated the entire car including the PPF bits.

Detailer ran it over to another shop for tint. Llumar ceramic tint, 80% on the windshield and 35% on all other windows. Standing next to it, or from the driver seat you can't really tell the windshield's tinted at all, I'm glad I went Brian's suggestion to go ahead and do it.

Very noticeable difference in the heat that comes through the windows. I'm usually averse to tint on my new cars, but since I'm going for kind of a red/black theme and want to help keep heat out and protect the interior figured I'd go ahead and do it.

Pictures don't it justice, so I'll only post one.

Does 80% tint mean 80% of the light comes through?

Looks great, I like the red and black look. The tint really helps it pop.

Car looks great.

Tint is a must in Florida, but I always hated tinted windshields. I have since changed my mind, it makes a HUGE difference and is barely noticeable.

Yes, 80% is how much light gets through.

Yeah, if no one told you, you'd never know from inside the car. He said some people go as dark as 50%. I mostly wanted the heat rejection. The Llumar ceramic tint apparently rejects 99% of both UVA and UVB rays.

There is more coming. The custom built coilovers are already here, the GR extended duck tail spoiler is here. Currently trying to decide on wheels. I'm leaning toward either the Titan TS-5 in 18x9, or the Advan RSIII in 18x9.5 likely with 245/35 Conti ECS.

The rear fender issue on the new ones means the previous standard fit, doesn't work unless you shave the inside of the fender and the little garnish. I may still do that, haven't decided yet.

2 weeks in and the car has a whopping 85 miles on it.

Also have the front 6 speakers on the way from OEM Audio+ waiting for them to release the sub for the trunk and the amps. They make some pretty slick stuff.

So I don't completely lose track of this thread. The front 6 speakers and new crossovers from OEM Audio+, unfortunately the amps and sub have been pushed back to December. The small tweeters in the tiny box and the small carbon woofers reside in the dash, the larger carbon woofers go in the doors.

These are the Gen 8 FA 500s. 7k/8k spring rates with Atlanta Speed Company's custom valving profile with Swift Springs. This is one of the best setups you can get at the ~$2500 price point. To make a big jump requires jumping up into the $4500+ range and I'm not willing to do that with a car that will likely never see the track or autoX.

I'm still a bit nervous about the RTV thing and eating a motor.

Ordered my wheels today.

18x9.5 ET45 Black Metallic Advan RSIII. Going to run a 245/35 Conti Extreme Contact Sport. The 245 will prevent having to trim the rear fender like a 255/35 would.

Is the lip polished?

It's not the full lip it's just that very outer ring is machined down to the aluminum. I think it adds a nice little touch.

They will be getting ceramic coated too before tires go on.

I was trying to give my local shop some business, they said 10+ weeks on the wheels. So before I ordered, I contacted my buddy at Atlanta Speed Company (same guy that got me my custom built FA's)......Mackin had them in stock and the wheels will be here tomorrow.

Drop them and the duckbill spoiler off on Monday to get ceramic coated, so I'm hoping in the next 2-3 weeks, Phase 1 of the car will be done.

I'll try to get some pics today. Picked up the wheels and the duck bill spoiler on Friday from the detailer, had them ceramic coated as well. He packed everything back up just like it was when I took them to him.

Car is scheduled to go to our local Subie specialist shop next month. Install coilovers, sway links, rear toe links, rear lower control arms, get an alignment. And install the catback exhaust, put tires on the wheels with the fancy 2-piece lugs.

After that the only thing left will be the OEM Audio+ speaker upgrades, I already have the front 6 speakers, waiting on them to release the amps and sub enclosure for the trunk. Then maybe start looking for a lip and/or diffuser.
