Very cool stuff but please don't use the word "mancave"

That's a shop, where stuff gets done.

A "mancave" is where beer enthusiasts who can't even install a baseball cap correctly go to hide from their wives when they are asked to change a lightbulb.

You can call it whatever you like (shop, den, nest, lounge, sim room) Rwgardless of title, it will always be where I hide from my wife when she needs light bulbs changed...

Minor update. Moved a shelving unit over to the lounge area. Need to rework it slightly, but it's a great fit.

And on the other side, where that unit came from, I threw together a cheap rack to store hood, hatch and doors from the Z.

What are you guys doing for this kind of vertical storage? This made the most sense to me while doing it, but I'm not sold on it as a long term solution.

(It's screwed to the studs in the wall, so no stability issues. )

In reply to birdmayne :

I have a miata hood (aluminum) hanging from the ceiling between two bays on a bike hook.  It was supposed to be temporary, but it's been like that awhile.  Honesly, I never need to walk there so it hasn't been an issue.

When I had parted a Miata and had it in my attached 2-car, I had most of it stashed on a section of industrial pallet racking but I eventually wound up throwing away two good, straight doors because I literally couldn't give them away.  (This was about 15 years ago).  I could not figure out a good, efficient way to stash them. I think a rack like you've built is probably the best solution out there.

So many small updates over winter.

It seems to get better by the day.

Two turbo shortblocks on stands, stocker L24 stashed behind stock auto trans.

Need to find a better home for weight bench or cherry picker, but it works for now

Mostly an update for posterity/ looking back on.

Over the last year, I've acquired three welders. An old Miller stick welder, a very used Lincoln Pro Mig 135 and an LTec (ESAB) Migmaster 250.

The Lincoln did not come with a bottle, so I threw in a spool of .030 Flux to play with. It / I make functional welds with it, after some tinkering with settings and technique.

I have not used the LTec yet, but I'm anxious to try it out. I'm thinking the liner is bad, because I can't get wire to feed all the way. Feels like it hits a blockage when I try to manually push it through.

Should I replace the liner or buy a new mig gun setup? If I go new, what's a recommended length. Also, this machine has settings and connections for a spool gun. Is that a better option?

It's a euro style back end, btw.
