Last one.
I'm not a boat guy but it looks plausible you scooped in some water on tight turns towards the back. I would imagine this is something you would notice but maybe not.
Awesome build!

Dumb question - is the boat flexing that much, or is it just some weird video thing from the camera vibrating?

Plausible? Yes. At this time, I'm not ruling anything out. I'll put it on the list of things to check.

That's the camera. For that shot it was clamped in the Ram mount on the engine cover. The vibrations were making it do weird things. It's kind of bizarre how it makes it look like the boat is made out of jello.
In reply to Toyman01:
I presumed so...considering you hadn't made any comments about it. That thing sure looks like fun! You did an amazing job, I'm 100% confident I'd end up on the bottom of the lake if I tried anything like that.

Yes, this. I saw that water going in on the side you mentioned. Watch your video where you turn near the shore.
Nice work!!!
Test run #3 is in the books. About 2 hours in duration. A qualified success.
The water is getting in the hull through the stuffing tube where the impeller shaft enters the hull. I'm going to have to do some research, but I think that's a grease seal, meaning grease is all the keeps the water out. I repaired a kinked hose for the auto bailer so it's keeping the hull dry for now.
The drivers position needs to move to the center of the hull when just one person is in the boat. If there is any kind of wave action, it sucks air constantly with the driver to one side. With the driver centered, it doesn't. I'm going to have to totally redesign the steering arrangement. I don't think it will be a major problem. More to come on that.
The engine ran flawless. I ran it very hard, WOT most of the time, and it burned about 3 gallons of gas. Not great, but not too bad either. I did have to tweak the idle some. It was trying to load up on extended idle sessions through no wake zones.
Why jet boat you ask, this is why. I want to go places I can't with an outboard. It's time to start using it.

The rest of the pictures and video are going to be in the 7 Hour Adventure thread as soon as I get them uploaded. . Here.
Oh, and top speed with just my fat butt in the boat.
Not too shabby for a cobbled together pile of parts.
The steering has moved again. This will allow me to sit in the middle when I'm by myself and sit to one side when with the family.
Now I just need to figure out where to mount the start and stop button and switch panel.
More to come.

Never get on a sailboat with a tiller then, you'll laugh so hard you fall out of the cockpit. (When not heeled way over, it's most comfortable for the guy steering to just straddle the tiller)
In reply to Kenny_McCormic:
I've sailed countless sailboats with tiller steering and have never had tiller on er..."tiller" contact like you describe.
Now back to your regularly scheduled jet boat build thread. Toyman's steering is more aviation style... I dig it.
You can't imaging just how glad I am that is in Connecticut.
One you northern guys will have to buy it.
