I'd been toying with the idea of getting a Chevy Sprint, Suzuki Swift, or Geo Metro to slap on a IHI RB51 from the Bitrouble.
I came across the following ad on CL:

I traded the following firearms for it:
Jimenez JA-Nine - 9mm pistol
Marlin 60 - .22 rifle
Ruber 10/22 - .22 rifle
I only had about $180 in cash in them all.
I like it, along with the price you paid for it!
What sort of plans are you bouncing around at this point?
(beyond a healthy helping of boost that is)

This was her the morning after I brought her home.
She had 3 different size wheels - 12" on the front, 13" on rear passenger side, and space saver spare on the rear drivers side.
Vigo traded me a new 13" tire on a Sentra steelie he had for my space saver spare and $20.
Vigo and I went to PnP and picked up some items:
3 - 13" Steelies w/really good tires.
Rear seat bottom
Hatch Trim
Cam for turn signals
Turn signal housing/lens
I now have matching tires per axle with good tread all the way around.
The plan is to get ~120hp, stiffen the suspension a bit, and have a blast while getting decent mpgs.
I had to modify the front hubs to get a smaller center bore to fit the Saturn wheel on the front.
The Hyundai wheels on the back required me to remove the dust caps over the wheel bearings. So I used some aluminium foil to keep the wheel bearings clean, you can make out the shiney aluminium in the current picture below.
Here she is today:

I just remember the commercials with the guy in a straight jacket.

You left out the missing dash piece and the factory clock we found at the jyard.
I still think we should go to the trouble and actually make this thing look good. All it needs is a little sanding, a wax job, and a coat of spray-bomb on the steelies. And of course tint for when it starts getting hot again in ... 3 months.
We got back in town on Friday, so yesterday I had a chance to fix some of the minor issues with Justine. The non-functional horn was just a fuse and the turn singal issue was just a missing bulb.
The exhaust leak at the cat-exhaust pipe flange was just a borked gasket. There aren't many parts for the Justy at the FLAPs so I picked up some Ultra Copper RTV - hopefully that will hold until my box of parts from Rock Auto comes in.
Speaking of Rock Auto, I ordered:
- Radiator & cap
- Thermostat & gasket
- Exhaust Gasket
The radiator doesn't look long for the world and there isn't currently a thermostat. Heat would be nice, the 1.2l 3cyl doesn't generate much w/out a thermostat.
Justine is now legal to drive in the State of Texas - don't tell anyone I've been driving her for a few days. The inspection guy didn't believe me that she was a Subaru at first, when he went to verify my insurance.

I knew it wasn't long for this world.
Must be that cold Texas air!
Or maybe it is actually cold there now??
calibrated cardboard, nice move sir.
It was 16.7 this morning. I think that qualifies as cold.
Rescued Justine, though she'd been tagged already.

Is this one 4WD?
Nope.
Radiator came in today, gaskets and thermostat should be here tomorrow.
Thermostat & radiator are in. Time to put some miles on her before the turbo goes on.
Has to be weird filling a little crapbox economy car up with premium to flush all of the old gas out before the turbo swap.
Always liked these little Subarus (because I like Subarus in general, even if this one shares no other aspects with its siblings other than a perverse sense of humour). The local shop had one that they were constantly trying to jam an early STI drivetrain into but I don't think they ever finished. Wonder if they still have it?
Averaging just shy of 33mpg.
My sister had a 4WD Justy (white) back in the day. I always thought it was cool, if not fast.
I'm really surprised by how non-slow the fwd Justy is, or at least feels.

I believe the politically correct term is "peppy".

Saw this for sale the other day; it's relisted now: http://www.ebay.com/itm/281260964878?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649
These things are pretty sweet. Definitely going to watch your build (:
