So....here's my project. A turbo Honda K24 in the backseat of a 1965 Corvair Corsa. Hoping for < 2500# with ~500hp to start (we'll see...)
The K24 fits perfectly between the rear rails. Built the rear suspension from scratch - but just bought some parts to make up time with the front suspension (cheating?)
Brakes/rotors are Hellcat/SRT8 Brembos. Front a-arms & uprights are from Speedway's Unser kit. ET-Wheels with 315-30-18s & 275-35-18s.
Purpose: Local track days, AutoX, etc. The Dream: PA Hillclimbs
Finding a Rack & Pinion that will fit correctly is my current headache...
First time building a car - having a blast...

that's me. I'm angry. Welcome to the club!
weight target is achievable. My car weighs 2654 with an iron-block V8 and Audi 6MT.
And yeah, we're gonna need all the details. :-)

HaHa. Very nice.
Note: it may take me some time to catch up on all of those posts -- wow!!
In reply to chris_white :
my six-month project took 4 years and 5 months to first drive, and all that did was give me a new list of stuff to improve.
half of the posts are just Stampie talking smack, so you can skip right over those. :-D
In reply to AngryCorvair (Forum Supporter) :
Yeah call me crazy but I think Chris can work a lot faster.

LOL - I just read the article, sounds like we've taken similar paths...
For me, I was just looking for a was to make the Corv-8 concept a little more modern & available. I saw a K-swap video online and thought that the K24 might fit in a vair - and it does. Challenge accepted... One sawzall, welder, bandsaw, Harbor Freight disc sander & several pounds of ebay steel tube stock later - here I am. Having a blast with a completely non-wife-functional garage.
Cheers to you for blazing the trail :)
In reply to Stampie :
Wow - right on cue... Well played. :)

I have a lot of experience in these matters.
Dang! Have you seen the K24 Ferrari 308 that's out there ?
In reply to TurboFource :
Yeah, I did catch some of that. I think that he tracked it not too long ago.
He's a 100x more pro at this than I am... lol
In reply to Piguin :
Sure - open to questions.
In reply to chris_white :
I think your work looks pretty good!

LOL - data analytics. So yeah, it will probably fall apart the first lap around the block...
