Sleeper? Small/RWD?  How about digging up a Cadillac Catera? I’m not sure if they offfered a coupe or just a sedan. Sort of a roll-your-own proto modern GTO.

That reminds me, I've seen some unreasonably cheap early CTSs. Possibly another option.

Those do better with a Ford 302

Wait... What??

They swap in the w123 easier than the LS series of engines for some reason. I'm not saying it's not doable buuuuuuuut yeah....

240 Volvo=2 door box?

740 Volvo=4 door box?

It's basically broken down into the following:

1st number: vehicle line (200 series, 700 series, 900 series)

2nd number: cylinder count (in most cases)

3rd number: door count. (2 = coupe, 4 = sedan, 5 = wagon)

All are excellent candidates for an LS swap

Geo Tracker- cheap, relatively plentiful, light.

Lower a lot, add big sticky steamroller tires, extend factory box flares until the footprint is a perfect square.  It would be terrifying.

This, but the wagon (estate!). I've daydreamed many times about one of these w/ a cheap 4.8 and a pair of snails...

There's already a thread on LS1tech from a guy who LS-swapped an MN12.

It would certainly simplify installing the T-Bird IRS, but small isn't a word typically used for these cars. Even with an aluminum block LS you're probably going to be in the 3500 pound range.

Came here to suggest the ford focus since it is a documented swap.. got beaten to it.

Rx8 are commonly done  and available with blown engine for cheap.

A sidekick can be cool.

It it wasnt for weight a toyota previa van would be awesome as it is already mid engine. It would make a Renault espace f1 clone.
