I'm familiar. Being a 2018 i was really hoping they'd made the similar changes they had made for the 3.5 ecoboost v6. (gen 2 has a 7th injecter in the intake to get fuel on the valves). I've tried the can of smoke method through the throttle body for teh ecoboost and really felt no difference.
Drove her car today. It's still zippy and fun. Which tells me my NC with the FM turbo kit will be a blast to drive.
I will note, at 40-50mph there's quite a "hum" from the rear. Has to be some kind of bearing/wheel noise. she of course does not notice it at all. (I also can feel something from the steering wheel so maybe it's up front).
7th injector? Such a stunningly simple solution to a complex problem. I mean. Darn.
Well, sounds like you have it well, in hand, I'll be more than happy to help with anything you need. Feel free to reach out.
cheers
Installed a crankcase vent. Nice piece of kit. Apparently it's what the high hp guys run. This and no catch can. Has a check ball in of a good size that opens and closes with pressure and vacuum.

My Cobb came in. Flashed it with the stage 0 map. Mountune then sends me a optimized tune which is better than the SCT tune I had and way better than the ots tune the AP comes with.

Picked up some new plugs. Trying out the rage the ST guys use. Ruthenium plugs. Gapped at .028. Gonna change the oil again and slap these in when I get the tune. Should be this week.

Also tried a thing. My intake pipe gets hot. I am a horder when it comes with things I may need. So I got some of my heat reflective sheets. Went to town. May do nothing. But ya know?

So far the car has been running great! Slight issue not related to the engine. Was in school line the other day. Dropping off the son. On the way to work and at the intersection, brake fluid low warning came on! WTH? Cleared it and drove on. Heart fluttering. Message came on again! Pulled into the shop at work and checked the fluid. Stupid low! Later on guys slapped the car on a lift and suggested it may be coming from the reservoir.
Sigh.
Saturday morning I pulled the battery and all that mess out of the way to inspect and found this. The clutch master was replaced recently. And for some reason the clutch line going into the master is leaking. Buddy did some reading and found that in cold temps it can happen. Idk? It was cold. Like 20 here in coastal NC. Not too common here.
Pic for those curious, reference the metal line with the plastic clip/metal clip.

Bummed but thinking it's time to upgrade. Ordered a clutch masters braided ss like that replaces the whole line from top to bottom.
Woot.
Hope I am right, as I waited to post.
It looks like it was just a brake fluid cap! The seal had come seperated, and that seemed to be the issue. I reckon in theory it had been leaking for some time, and just got to the point it was low and given how brake fluid is.....looked worse than it was.
So far so good!
Update.
Brake fluid was still leaking. I attempted to source it out as brake fluid cap. Which that WAS leaking (large amount too). Though I still had a leak which ran down the driver side front wheel well seam and was small enough to no really register in the reservoir.....though was leaking.
Pulled it apart and found the culprit. Clutch line was leaking at the master cylinder. IDK what was leaking.....the line or the o ring. Though I had already suspected it. So I ordered a Clutch Masters SS line. Benefit of this is, it replaces the whole line with one piece....AND removes all the delay valves the OEM puts in the line.

Bad pic. Though you get the gist. FU Ford for putting the retention clips upside down, with a ABS module in the way. Lost alot of time trying to get this clip in. Finally lucked into getting it on, then the new line clipped in.

Bled the system, good to go. Though I am a bit salty it ruined the paint some......sigh. Pedal feel is improved. No huge difference, though if you owned the car, you can tell its changed.
And another update. Car has 80K on it now. Tried my hand at carbon cleaning the intake valves.
Wife had gotten me a handheld media blaster for Christmas, so that was ideal. I had asked for it. LOL. 25 lbs of walnut media (fine) from Harbor Freight, and voila!
Messy. Sooooooo messy.

Apologies. Hard to get a good pic. It did the job.
Also cleaned out the intake manifold and throttle body.

First fire up, car ran like total butt. Cleared codes, ran better though seemed off. Cleared codes again, reset ecu with the Cobb. Started it up and let it idle. Theory was, some of the seafoam i had sprayed and perhaps some of the media had gotten in the cylinders. Burned off, and ran fine after a good idle.
Took it down the road and all is good. Still hitting around 19 psi max. May adjust the WGA further ......idk. Will see whats next.
