Ouch.
Glad to see you and the machine are okay.
You've got to be pretty stoked though with 4 rolls, landing nicely on your wheels and the whole thing caught on the live stream though!

lol! Definitely could have been worse!
lil update. I took the machine for a loop around the block and the rear felt loose as hell! Found a sway bar link bolt had come loose. I have a feeling that contributed significantly.
We did another off road excursion last weekend at the local spot. A couple of the boys decided to set up a hog roast. Good times! In the jeep, I came over a crest and found a pretty deep washout before I was able to see it at all. We were able to winch it out using a tree and pulley to get the angle right. No damage to the Jeep. 👍
I ordered some fabric to get the 914 seats redone, and figured now's the time to add some deeper bolsters to the sides.
the autocross at the end of January had a bit of rain, so I took the Boxster instead of the 914. It did well, but it's no engine-swapped Spyder kart on slicks. 😂
about a week ago, I walked into the garage to find a puddle of brake fluid under the right rear of the 914, so it got a pair of rebuilt calipers.
I've got a big weekend planned. Firm rallyx Saturday, demolition derby "national championship" in Arcadia Saturday night (as a spectator) and a PCA autocross in the 914 Sunday.
I'm excited to see how the seat recovery goes. Are you going to do this yourself or take to an upholstery shop?

I was recommended a local one-man shop. I chatted with him for quite a while about exactly what I was looking for. He gave me a reasonable quote, so he's got the job.
I'd love to have the seats back before the autocross but I told him not to rush, so odds are slim. So I've got a 914 seat mounted temporarily that's rough shape and brown.
A lil progress pic from the upholstery guy. I think he's got two ass cushions in this photo, so not exactly the right orientation, but you get the idea. Also, material is not finished on the back, so not final fit and finish here, just basic concept. And a pic of the added bolster attached to the seat frame. Ready by Friday. Maybe. 🤞

Added bolster is from Patrick Motorsports. Bolsters. Not cheap. But cheaper than full upgraded seat options.
Things are not going my way with this machine lately.
first run of the day. Axle nut gave up and wheel went flying off into the woods. Contemplating a tack weld on these axle nuts in the future. Might have been compromised in the roll over. Shame on me for not checking.
Consolation prize in the mail at home after unloading a broken machine. It's whispering to me, "you don't suck quite as bad as you're currently feeling"
No wheels fell off today! Won my class in the autox! Woohoo. (Only guy in my class 😂)
the car did great! Drove it there and back with no issues. I dropped 5 seconds from my first run to my last, as I got more familiar with the car. It's major weak point for autocross is the manual steering. Combined with the 225s up front, I have to really wrestle the thing around the cones. Slaloms and hairpins are a real bear. If I intended to do a lot of autocrossing with it, power steering would be item number 1. But I don't think I care enough to go down that hole. Fun day!! I ended up 2 seconds back from Dan Shields (one of the $2k challenge pro drivers) in his Boxster S. Good enough for me.
In reply to captainawesome :
I'm sure it would help. But I don't think it'd be enough to truly solve the issue.
The Suncoast PCA autocross group is run by a husband and wife couple. The wife, Kirsten, works in the food service equipment industry, as do I. Our companies work together regularly. She's always very excited to see me when I make it to a PCA event. Sunday she wanted to pose for a picture and called our cars "Ketchup and Mustard" 😂. She's fast af in that Cayman R and pulled 3rd fastest time of the day, edging out her husband by 2/10ths!

I don't. But it's a pretty serious track car setup. Driven by a lady.
got the seats back. I'm not 100% impressed. They have some flaws but so does the rest of the car. Seems the guy struggled where I added the extra bolsters and he was not able to use the old covering as a template. The material is a little loose in that area. Oh well, better than I could have done and looks better than before.
Bummer about the seat bolsters. Maybe find another shop to redo that part?
Either way the new 15 weaves look so good.
I'm just gonna roll with it. "Good enough for who it's for" 😂 the car is full of cosmetic flaws. The seats are comfy and the bolsters add just enough support without making egress a pain like a real "race" seat would.
reserved an Airbnb for Concours d'lemons and Amelia Island weekend in Jax. I'm gonna tote the 914 up there and cruise the Huguenot park area, where you can drive on the beach. Undecided yet if I'm going to enter it in the Lemons show. Also signed up for another PCA autocross at a new venue, Lead foot City
