This So I grabbed this 1987 automatic for a very reasonable price, and it's time to get started.

This car has a few things going for it, and a lot going against it. Most people would part this car out, and crush it, but this is perfect for the project I have had in mind. So we start with the bad...

In the first pic, you can see the drivers Door, and fender are doinked and the rocker is pretty much gone.

The rear bumper is missing, but I was going to build one anyway.  it also has a hitch, and kick ass prancing moose sticker. This hatch is about 95% good, and that's rare in my area.

This is typical for the 240 from the mid to late 80s, the biodegradable harness was standard.  No worries as I plan to scratch wire this car.

So the drivers side floor is trash. I ordered some new sheet from a vendor on Ebay. A few other sources either didn't have all the pieces I need, or are on a big shipping delay due to the plague so fingers crossed  these parts will show up looking like they should fit. The worst part for me is these trees though. I hate them.

So let's gut this sumbitch. Passenger side is good, and it came with a third row seat! That's a score. So after day one I rolled the car out of the shop to start sorting parts, and to pull another one I  to finish some stuff on another project.

Nice project.

back in the day friend had maroon 240 sedan. We did lots of suspension work to it and he auto x it for a while. He wanted to do 5.0 L swap but never happened.

I am confused . Some pics show white 240 with IL plates and some show 240 blue with WI plates.

are there two cars here?

Yes, I wasn't sure what to title this thread, since I have 5 240s of vary degrees of coolness, and am usually doing something to more than one at any time.  The white one is a 5.3 ls "sloppy" turbo with t56, and ford 8.8 with a custom 3 link.

So I am trying to get one of my other 240s back into service, and have been wanting to try some ebay turbo stuff.  I pushed the blue project out to try and whip this one together real quick. Fun fact, for years the ebay turbo manifold made for the b230 is made incorrectly.  The manifold flange is welded on upside down, and needs to be chopped up, and rewelded.

So unfortunately I didn't have all of the parts I needed to complete the intake/exhaust, and I will have to wait a couple days to knock this one out.  I did start it though, and there are no leaks so far as I can tell.

Cool builds!  Are you on turbobricks?  I love mid-blue 245s. lol   I see you're in the midwest as well.  There aren't a lot of us Volvophiles around here.

You'll need to log in to post.
