LS1 swap into 69 el camino

Hi I have a few questions about how it will all fit to work into my project with an LS1 swap into my 69 camino. I bought an LS1/4l60e transmission complete with all accessories beltdriven and computers. Has it all. Now my el camino already has a 350/700r4 inside it. Shouldn’t the mounts line up for everything since it’s the same size engine and transmission including length and driveshaft fit?

Also need to know anything about relocating belt driven parts to make this as easy as possible.

Start measuring - everything. It's likely to be close in dimensions, but I wouldn't bet on a drop in fit. LS engines were a clean sheet design, so there isn't all that much in common with the 350 that's in there now.

i will definitely add pictures this week. im just concerned with the belt driven units to relocate them and other parts that i may need by suggestion.

The engine mounts are different. There are adapters that will bolt to the LS and allow it to bolt into the old style engine mounts. I'm not sure about the trans.

Street & Performance has how-to articles on putting LS1s in anything. There's a link at this page that shows how to put one in a 70 Chevelle...should be pretty much the same as your El Camino.

S&P also sells all kinds of parts to help with the swap.
