Very cool. I assume you have seen the kimini: http://www.kimini.com/
This is like it's younger brother.

Kimini is really a wonderful build and Kurt is certainly an inspiration to anyone who is interested in building a car. Kurt's second car is pretty sweet also.
But the only real similarity between Kimini and my car is the word "Mini" Two quite different builds with few real similarities but for the word Mini and that they are mid engine builds. I'm sure Kurt would agree.
What's the latest on this?
Bump for updates hopefully?

I'm glad you did. I missed it. This is an exciting build!
Wow amazing fab work. If somebody told me those bellcranks came from an F1 car I wouldn't bat an eye.

Hubs are Mini Cooper front bolt on hubs. Same will be used on the rear
That's some good learning there. I've been looking for suitable (affordable) bolt on hubs for a stalled/failed/mothballed FSAE car I have.
And good move on the steel tubular upright. My opinion has always been a properly designed sheet metal structure will only take a minor ding on weight but will have a stiffness benefit over the equivalent billet aluminum piece. And can be made by a gorilla with a bandsaw, vise, hammer and welder.
It's been a while... Any new updates on this thing?
