I took a break from the VW for a couple months to get my new DD on the road. It's a '95 Ferrari F355. Not a kit, and perhaps not exactly a GRM type car. As you can see from a couple of the photos, it needed me. The biggest issue was that the interior was disassembled and that it had sat in a garage, being used as a storage shelf for 4 years. I trailered it home, reassembled the interior, put new timing belts on it, put the seats in and added some 360 wheels, did a bunch of other stuff and have started driving it.

I should get back to the Rabbit later this week.

One more of the trip home behind my GRM approved truck

Loving this. Needs a camera pointed backward to capture the befuddled faces of those behind you wondering why the VW has a flamethrower :)

Got the overhead IC done and the exhaust, such as it is. Started it and yes it's still a little too loud.

Car is running pretty good. It's kinda fun to drive it without the air cleaner on because you can see the turbo impeller spinning in the rear view mirror. Drove it as far as the gas station a couple days ago. Making a deck lid now.

I'm not going to lie, it's pretty dang fun! I guess I can't legitimately call it my Daily, but I have driven it to work 4 or 5 times. I'm a HS math teacher, and the kids think it's kinda cool. But some of the other teachers aren't too thrilled, since our contract is up for negotiation, and it doesn't really help with the idea that teachers are poor and need a raise, haha. I drive it somewhere 2-3 times a week generally.

lol nothing says that you make too much money than driving a 20 year old car ;-)... bet most of them paid a lot more for the car they drive... funny how perception works when you get a certain badge...

Got the engine cover in and put in a passenger seat. I had to use something narrower on the passenger side as the body is offset to the left on the Fiero chassis.

Looks much cleaner with the decklid. Hard to really hide much with this beast but it does tidy it up a bit.

Took the car to the scales at the dump. 2920 pounds with a math teacher and 3/4 tank of fuel. So it looks like it came in right around 2700, which is right about what I predicted. I figured I'd be disappointed with anything over 2800 so I'm pretty happy.

Sounds right - next is a quick dyno run to allow the math teacher to calculate power to weight?

That thing looks like it would be a hoot to drive. It needs a name. Cabero? That sounds too much like a GMC El Camino. Fierolet? Either way I like it. I don't think I would've gone with the wing though, but since you've already got an intercooler and a turbo up there, there is no going for an understated sleeper look at this point, so why not go with the wing.

I agree with tj but the best part about building something you like is just that.

That Mclaren sports racer picture gives me wing envy. I'm going to have to go bigger.

By the way, I'm widening the front suspension on the driver's side and getting rid of the spacer. I'll post pictures of that process when I'm done.
