Wife's hair dryer to the rescue. File that under things I never want to do again.
I used Zep heavy duty citrus degreaser to get the adhesive off and that worked out great with a scotch brite sponge.

My inspection appointment is on Tuesday, so in the meantime I figured I'd take a trip to the junkyard and see if there was anything I could use from the 2013 Charger they had. Ended up snagging the both sides of the interior b pillar trim for $21. I've seen these on ebay for ~$130 per side so I think I made out pretty well.
Old busted
New hotness
I'm still on the hunt for a center console and leather seats but I think I'm going to hold off until I get the rebuilt title before I sink the cash on those.
The car passed inspection last Tuesday and all the paperwork was mailed to the DMV. Tracking shows that it was picked up last Friday so the wait is on.
Ran into a problem though, the car was reporting that the right front turn signal was out but it wasn't. To make a long story short, the eBay seller didn't want to send me a replacement headlight so I just opened my old one up and took all of the OEM components out and swapped them into the new headlight.
I had to remove the bumper again but the upside is now the DRL patterns match again.
4 full weeks since I mailed my paperwork in and the DMV still hasn't cashed the check I had to send. I called them the other day and they told me they're working on paperwork received in January and if they got mine at the end of January/beginning of February they should get to it in the next two weeks, so more waiting. Once they process the paperwork I still need to wait for an appointment with their inspector to verify I didn't steal any of the parts I replaced and who knows how long that will take.
I think this will be my first and last rebuilt title car in VA, the process just takes so long that even if I do make money on this car it won't be worth the time it's spent just sitting in my driveway doing nothing.
I understand your frustration with the slow process.
In PA the process for a in state car is fairly simple, but out of state is completely different.
You might check and see if your state has a different process for in state cars, then maybe stay with in state cars, that really limits things, but could make things simpler.
In PA I can do registration while doing the enhanced inspection. But only for a in state car.
Out of state is a exercise in frustration.

Registering a car that's already been issued a Virginia rebuilt title is no problem, but salvage/out of state rebuilt you have to go through the process I'm going through now.
I should have clarified I'm likely not going to be doing another IAAI/Copart car here in Virginia.
