Excellent. Its sunny today, so if I get a reprieve from this.stupid berkeleying migraine, I may introduce miyuki to the bottom bitch of the house, and then adventure to the art store. I need to test some stuff and things.

I did things today! I introduced miyuki to the ms3. They're shockingly similar in size, though nearly 20 years apart in age and totally different in temperament.

And as long as miyuki was out of the wind (holy buckets were talking totos ass going back to Kansas here) I tackled a few more small projects. Step 1- remove detritus from car acquired during road trip. Step two, put storable things in storage. Step 3, ready for winter duty. This was accomplished by....... Putting the car seat in it. yes it is worth almost as much as I paid for the car.

That accomplished, I moved on to other things. I was greeted by my neighbor, and his stepson. The stepson is an interesting one to say the least. Arms full of juggalo tattoos, no drivers license, two kids, and wants his first car to be a 200$ MN fiero. I sense danger. But, being the nice guy that I am, I gave him a crash course in beaters. Oh, and he said no fords. Wtf. Kids these days. While I was educating, I started fiddling with the wiring I had blasted apart like a dope that controlled the fogs. And wouldn't you know it, I fix it! whats with all the masking tape? Let's not get ahead of ourselves.......

Once the fogs were done, I moved on to the real test. Arts and crafts! no self respecting corolla owner should avoid arts and crafts. But what am I doing you ask? Let me show you I drew a circle using the corner of the hood as the central Axis point. I did this by wrapping some of that there string around the sharpie, and basically eyeballing the radius til I had something I liked. Once that was accomplished, it was time to mark out some lines. Because I like things measured, I got out the ol protractor and marked off 10* increments along the radius of the circle, again using the corner of the hood as the center axis. That done, it was time to lay extensions so I could get tape lines. Using the metal ruler, I went from the center axis, to the far edge of the circle, using the degree markings as a waypoint. This gave me very evenly spaced sections. Then, tape! you can kinda start to guess what's happening here. And yes I used 1.5" painters. Why? I found that roll first. Plus, it's less prone to wavy limes due to width.

All taped up, the sharpie came out again. This time, I follows the edge of the tape the length of the hood. Tape made a good straight line, which was my goal. I like straight lines.

All of that completed, its time.to see what we did. Can you guess what ive done? that's right boys and girls, that is the outline of a rising sun, step one in sharpie hood a gogo. I plan to fill each section with designs.in the corresponding color, so that from afar it looks as a rising sun, but up close it is much more. Stay tuned as I slowly lose my mind over this one.

Other than being a wagon I had a 1994 Geo Prizm as my first car. At the age of 16 I fit in it and dad had bought it brand new....

Dad eventually gave it to my sister and got me a 944. Why? b/c I could not sit in it, I'd grown too much and my knees were hitting the dash with the wheel between them...

I really really do not understand any "want" for that car... it was gutless, it had no personallity...

Different strokes for different folks. If you've been playing our home version you know that my first car was one of these as well, in sedan guise. 1993 in fact. You must me considerably taller than 6' because that's where I clock in and I have no issues. As far as them being gutless, there's really no arguing that. The 5afe+3 speed autobox most of these were saddled with wasn't exactly a rocket. Fortunately the wagons got a bigger motor and a 4 speed, so its got a lot more pop.

The rest of it, eh whatever. I don't expect people to get it. This is purely for me. At no point am I ever concerned about what anyone else is doing. I want a corolla wagon, I got a corolla wagon. They're a lot of fun if you know the chassis. They take 4ag swaps well, there's plenty of suspension out there, and Japan even had a performance model.

I think if I'd had a wagon I might have had a different tune. Granted I have a lot of fun memories. One friend still refuses to drive with me because and I quote " we were doing 45 down the road and all of a sudden we slide sideways and we are going the other direction." handbrake turn. That car took a HUGE beating and sill kept on ticking. 5 spd manual without a tac too. I beleive the prizm was a 92 hp 4cyl manual.

I'm 6ft 3in. and not really that long in the leg I just remember it being a very tight fit...

I wish I'd learned about autocross while I had it, learning in a momentum car like that would have done amazing things for my abilities as a driver.

I miss putting ~5 dollars of gas in it and filling the tank...

Do not get me wrong, I'm loving your enthusiasm for the car.

Stop over at tandy leather in Richfield. They have some different colored leathers for shifter boots.

I'm debating the merits of attempting to get a polished aluminum panel made for the shifter section. A boot is a little boring since is auto.

Its raining. My head killing me. Won't be getting a huge ton done. However- I did start farming my next idea. Given that miyukis current hatch has a nice fat dent in it, it is the perfect platform for me to play custom part man, specifically- a spoiler. Now weve all seen the bz spoiler I posted some pages back. Too small. I want a big berkeleying cosworth escort level spoiler.

OK maybe not quite that nuts, but big. Spoon civic is the low side of size. Why do I want a big spoiler? Why not. For some reason, hatch cars with good spoilers look amazing to me. I'd be a liar If I said I didn't like the one on the ms3. Also who cares. My car. The initial deal will to be to build a rough buck out of cardboard, then head to the junkyard. Some quality time with a dremel will likely yield some approximate results. I'm figuring a combination of a 1g neon spoiler and a grand am spoiler will do it. I'll mud it, glass it, prime it, and stick it on. If I like it, I'll pull a mold. If not, bin it and be out a few bucks.

Minor rant to end my evening. I picked up a shift at work because I would be doing exactly what I was at home, only now I get paid. Paid to play pinball on my phone? Woe is me. However I discovered I needed to take some sort of defensive driving course mandated by our office. I was unable to argue out of it using my 1100mile trip last week as precedent, nor was me attaching pictures of myself auto crossing with an email to my boss pleading my case sufficient either. I may just bring my helmet to the holiday party, throw wides on the ms3 and take challengers for a permanent out on future tests.
