does everyone remember when whiskey_business was selling new-in-box turbos for wicked cheap, like $100 each? well, as we were relocating the pile of hacked-up chassis tubes to behind the garage, he says to me "you really should take a couple of turbos with you. as long as i'm cleaning up, i might as well get rid of them."
they're not specifically earmarked for MonZora, so for now they're just sitting on the shelf as i ponder the budget options of $100 each vs traded for 4 hours of minimum wage labor vs free because they came with the chassis scraps.

So when I see people saying that first time challenge participants don't really have a shot at winning, and I think to myself "that sounds pretty condescending and I'll show them..." and then I see this level of awesomeness and I kind of think "yeah, maybe I should just sit back and watch because I can't beat that..."

Top 5 is a nuclear arms race of broke fabricators. I cant play there. However, getting into the top 20 can be done by anyone. In damn near anything that runs good and steers and stops.

The spirit will be top 5 this year if I have any say in the matter. Ian and I have some ideas
In terms of gastropod I agree. Most crazy builds never show up. Most modest builds with the right focus do well.
Maybe Kelly will be cool with postponing the June wedding until next year so I can spend more money... err time... in the garage

Truth. I think I was only 1 or 2 spots back in a C4 that dynoed 150rwhp a couple weeks before the Challenge, was on the original shocks from 1985, and kept blowing out the front seal.

No quad turbos for me. But since I have to re-gasket the engine *anyway*, there’s no additional labor to install larger injectors. And since I have to build an exhaust *anyway*, there’s no additional labor to make two turbos part of it. This is not scope creep. I repeat, this is not scope creep.
