Today's sounds: All Black Sabbath, All The Time!

If I was equipped for that line of work, I would be in that line of work.
To get ready for mating the powertrain and joining it to the car, I had a bit of cleanup to do. I had stuff in the old engine bay:
and in the interior:
and on the floor underneath:
so I did my best to put away or throw away as much as possible, and eventually:
I even cleared off the shelf at the front, Er, uh, I mean the trunk:
before I could attach transaxle to engine, I went ahead and assembled the friction surface to the flywheel. Total of 21 bolts requiring clean and dry threads, and a dab of Loctite Red on each:
tightened in two steps, hence the two sharpie dots on each bolt head:
cleanup took a big chunk of the day, and with temp in the mid-80s plus a ton of humidity, I was pretty whipped by about 9PM. So I updated the list and called it a night.
not sure if I get garage time tomorrow. I know we are hosting dinner for my in-laws around 4.
Gooo LT1! I have one in a '94 Buick Roadmaster wagon. It's been great apart from an intermittent misfire. So easy to work on in the big B-body engine bay. Yours is looking mint!
I am loving this build! I wish I was able to help with some custom damper tuning for you but no access to the dynos at work, etc. I can do some CarSim simulation work for you within the month with enough data though!
Didn't get anything. Try philmatherracing at the g mail dot com. Thanks! If you work where I think you do according to LinkedIn, you might know my BIL.
EDIT: Got it and replied. Thanks!!!

I said "PM'd" before I actually PM'd. You should have something now.
I'm at Mobis in Plymouth these days.
Monday 5/25: Honey-do's and hosted dinner for in-laws
Tuesday 5/26: garage floor concrete repair
Wednesday 5/27: summer tire swaps for 3 vehicles, in the driveway. It was hot as balls. Scrubbed all six sets, inside and out.
Thursday 5/28: drive-thru HS graduation for AK1. Also AK2's birthday. And another dinner with the in-laws, this time at their place.
Friday 5/29: finally back on MonZora! Mostly did a bunch of measuring and figuring on how low I can mount the engine. Also laid out and cut a section of package tray to make room for back of intake, header exits, etc. Marked:
and cut:
i should have done this a year ago! Would have made frame grafting a little easier.
Going to get a late start tomorrow, because I'm taking AK1 and AK2 to late breakfast at Waffle House in Toledo. That'll be about a 3-hour ordeal. Covered chunked and peppered, baby!

Umm, whatever you're into bro.
LOVE the update, keep it up.
To Porsche folk the front is a "frunk".
The problem with starting Saturday (1) late and (2) at Waffle House is that the rest of the day is a let-down. The Future Hammer Store took way longer than it was worth, although I did get a couple of the cheap furniture dollies to steal the casters from:
Then I went to Home Depot and got some 2x4's to build some cribbing:
and that was about all I got done on Saturday. Today I knocked out a couple honey-do's, then started scheming on building a powertrain cart. Rather than start from scratch, I checked CL for engine stands and scored a couple of very low, homemade stationary stands, for $10 each:
they currently attach to the front engine mount pads and the bellhousing mating surface. I'm modifying them to support the back of the engine by the starter mount on RH:
and the clutch Z-bar attachment on LH:
And I'll move the rear verticals forward a couple inches so the whole contraption is forward of the bellhousing mating surface. Post-mod, they won't interfere with the adapter plate, so I'll keep one for engine-only and mod the other one to support the engine and transaxle, and also to bolt to my ATV lift, which will make powertrain installation and removal easier.
that's where I left off for tonight. Looking forward to getting these done so I can get on with powertrain mounts!

A late friend of mine would order his “dropped chopped and hopped”... a few of the waitresses would get it!

But you did get an awesome family photo out of the day!!!
Also, rework sucks.
Measured outside-outside and inside-inside starter mount holes, averaged to get center-center. Wrote down a 2 instead of a 3, and made the part wrong the first time.
Mods to engine stand turned out great. Picks up Z bar mount on LH:
and starter mount on RH:
and clears the adapter plate:
but it blocks the relocated starter and that's no bueno. Good thing I bought 2 of these. I'll keep this one for engine-only out of car, and mod the other one to attach to the adapter plate at the rear.
