Another North Carolinian! Nice work on the boat, it looks like even with all the work you've been doing you've managed to get your boats out way more than I have this year.
Your name sounds familiar, are you a BMW guy?
I grew up in N Raleigh and I started working at Shade Tree Garage when I was 15. Still like BMWs but I've also got a thing for old J-tin

I'm in Raleigh, and I had a few E30 BMWs, but you're probably thinking of Bret Luter, who is a huge BMW nut. It's all he drives.
I keep thinking I want another BMW, but I always talk myself out of it. If I ever get another BMW, it'll have an M on it.

Ok, got the head and block cleaned up this morning, looks like no permanent damage but you can tell that the shop did an awful job of cleaning it up before they put it together. There was a water leak at the back of the block and I think it was coming from between the head and block so hopefully that will be resolved as well

While waiting on the head gasket to arrive, I did wheel bearings on my 100 Series. When you only get 1 hour a day, you have to make it count...
