Youre all going to be very very sad when it ends up at 279 WHP (on the last dyno pull), which is my guess, and I buy fun things on Amazon with my fancy new gift card.

This is one of my favorite builds and I have nothing of substance to add so I'll gladly take advantage of this opportunity to post!
I bet it's either really high or really low..... so here's to positive thinking! 302 because ford chevy and now lambo
Update. Top end is going together. Looking great. I dropped off my fuel system last night to him, along with the ITBs, runners, distributor, so he can begin checking clearance. Alternator dropped off. So this weekend won't be dyno day, perhaps next. Either way, he's gotta be out by the end of the month, and he's going super crazy crunch time. Seems I'm dropping something off nearly every day, but each day is huge progress.
I'll throw 256 out there. We know you've made it better than stock! Love this thread btw. Guys with Lamborghini's tearing into the motors in their garage makes ya dream.
I have updated the Jalpa Guessing Game
This week has been busy. So many guesses! Headed to the machinist tonight for some parts we were missing, and also the new cap and rotor that came from germany, along with a few other goodies. Making progress. We're coming up on it fast.
He said there is, "A lot of shiny things for me to see when I show up." So that makes me happy.
Alright, Shiny Things update:

True. And realistically, he hasn't charged me for tools because he wants to do more Jalpa/Urraco/Silhouette motors. I can imagine once the engine is screaming, that'll be no problem for him to drum up some business with the work he has done. He's helped me a lot, so I'm not going to complain because he could stick it to me quite a good bit. He's good people.

I'm curious...will the engine end up costing more than the original purchase price of the car?

Not sure, I'd have to look at the numbers. But maybe. Factoring in the head repairs, the new pistons, the new sleeves, valves, ITBs, machine work, water pump rebuild, bearings, it's possible. The 2 largest expenditures on the engine thus far have been the ITBs, and head repairs. The heads required 15 hours of welding (each), to fix the pitting with them, plus new valve seats.
Contrary to popular belief the car itself was far less expensive than I had anticipated, but I knew I was going to spend a lot on the engine getting it back to normal.
If you all are legitimately interested, I can add things up once it's all said and done for those interested.
Of course we're interested! I think the threads like this, the amg thread the 996 what could go wrong thread give real world data on what it takes to run high-end cars with a grassroots mindset.

I'll start adding up what it has cost thus far so everyone can have an idea.

For some reason, that made me think of my high school days and this came to mind immediately.

I'm on my way to the hydraulics shop in about 15 minutes to pick up the last of the o-rings to seal things up. I will also be grabbing a few AN fittings that we didn't anticipate having clearance issues so we can redo the lines on the one side of the rail. I'll take pics when I get there.
Didn't get to meet with the machinist, he ended up having to run to down last night but I did get the parts dropped off at his back porch. My last 2 o-rings came in a very fancy box.
One of my friends on facebook said, "I feel like an automobili lamborghini box is the male equivalent of when girls get a blue tiffany box."
