You over-estimate us.

Lol! Well, ok then. I'll see if I can find something to setup my charger and stuff to live stream. I won't be able to really respond, since we'll be busy hooking things up. But i'll try to live stream it then.
Seriously, if it's a real pain, don't waste time on it. Do what you need to do to make this thing run. Definitely want the dyno session, though.

Yeah, we'll see how into crunch time we go when i get there.
The suspense is kill me.....
I keep checking back in here all day, but no updates. That hopefully (probably) means that things are going well, and that you're just too busy finalizing things to get us an update.
He's waiting on belts, the first one didn't work as the tooth profile was wrong.
There are three more in transit or awaiting test fitting.
SO here is where we are at:
The engine is on the dyno ready to go. Megasquirt is tested and ready to go. Fuel is up and ready to go except a few fittings. I had to run to bend to get them, because my machinist didn't have a 10an to 8an reducer. So I have that.. Everything is ready to run.
I am waiting on a belt. The first one this morning had fat teeth, though the pitch was right. It was too tight. Just barely, less than the 89 tooth belt, but at 91 teeth, still too much.
The others are "out for delivery". As long as ONE WORKS, we will have dyno day. It'll be late, it sounds like, but we'll have it, so long as they fit.
I'm sitting on my ass, drinking scotch , smoking a cigar, playing the waiting game.
If none of these work, I'll pretty much go to the machine shop with a razorblade and cut down some of the teeth of the other belt if I have to. I'm damn determined to make this work today.
We're all pulling for you. May the Auto gods be on your side, and the brown clothes parts guys be on time today.

x 2.
As much as I want to see this thing singing its song, trimming the teeth down on the belt to make it happen seems awfully risky.... but maybe I need to not be such a pansy

it'd be the only option if the other belts don't fit, fingers crossed i don't need to do that. keep in mind this timing belt is not for the timing of the cams/crank. it is for the ignition only. very little pressure on it.

I'd rather make sure of the others fits properly so there's nothing else that goes wrong. The wait is just killing me.
UPS Tracking information: Out for delivery. UPS Track My Driver: Package at facility. Called UPS: "Well, we think it's out for delivery but maybe there's a problem with the system and it's at the warehouse." Are you kidding me right now.

No no no no no no no no!
Ok UPS called me back, it IS on the truck and out for delivery. They are in the neighboring town, they're seeing if they can have them just drop it off to my machinist. If not, i'll wait.
Due to the amount of time it's taken, we may or may not get an actual dyno run, but will at least be able to fire up the motor and run it.
At this point, I'll take what I can get.
Yep. Especially a high compression oversquare V8 with 8 throttle bodies :)
I did hear it run though!
