Big props man. What a journey.
I'm admittedly a bit sad we didn't get to do a full dyno run. But at this point, since we've verified it runs, it works, everything is working together, and the fuel delivery is also good.... I can street tune and then chassis dyno the rest.
Part of my issue is that the O2 calibration was off and so it said "Hey you're way too rich." his said, "hey you're way too lean." based on the popping and way it was acting, we were lean. So it was being a pain to try and dial stuff in. I believe that was my fault, as looking back, I didn't take the time to calibrate the LC2 as I should, and then we fired it up, so it probably ended up calibrating with stuff in the exhaust and read wrong the entire time.
Aside from that, I at least got it to start and run with the fuel settings after we ended up working on it for a bit. We shared a few celebratory brews. All the frustration, the pain in the butt parts, and the long wait was worth it.
Again, I'm glad I met my machinist, he's absolutely a class act. It'll be not quite the same around here without his expertise and knowledge and experience. It'll be interesting to take it home and put it back in the car... after 3 years... in a condition that feels like better than new.
Derek I gotta say this has been one hell of a journey for all of us following along and I know it has been for you. My humble congrats on getting this son of a bitch running! Would it be wrong if I said I am extremely jealous? It's funny... When I see all of the projects on here it humbles me and makes me happy to see all of the talent on GRM. I was following this with extreme interest. When you were having problems finding the belt to get the engine going, my heart hurt because it was so close. I was pulling for you from day one. Now I am filled with joy! Again congratulations!
