I had no idea such a thing even existed.

EDIT: Sorry, I obviously put this in the wrong forum. If a mod could move it to the Classifieds I'd appreciate it.

So much 1st gen Escort weirdness and both too many and too little batteries to make it worthwhile.

Its an odd reminder of just how spartan the interiors were on some of these early 80's econo-cars.

From the era when Ford put the horn button on the end of the turn signal stalk.  Push the stalk in for horn.  I forgot about the second stalk on the same side for wipers

There was a different one for sale on Pittsburgh Craigslist about a month ago. Weird, I'd never heard of them until then

I guess reliability wasn't a byword, considering the tow bar in the passenger seat.

Some guys "raced" on in Lemons. First race on lead acid batteries, now with Volt(?) batteries. They gave up quickly on racing it for slowness reasons. I got to drive it around the paddock and it was just weird.

You could park it next to this one.

The first price was $8K

They are weird products of their eras, and are also proof of why electric cars weren't really viable until 20 years ago. Even wackier, they used cheap DC motors connected to the trans to lower the price- but they were still the equivalent of $40,000 new!

That would be cool as hell if someone put some good batteries in it. I really dig the look. Price is not bad.
