Every Jaaaaag needs a Leaper:
Detailing the engine bay with Ferrari Red. ( 5 extra hp )
And utilizing one of Stampie's technique's:
Free child labor !
Oh, remove the radiator fan to get at the belts. Sounds silly but takes 2 easy screws and an electrical connector and makes all the space to inspect the belts.
Tragedy struck last night while changing the Super Charger Belt. I leaned on and broke a coolant line fitting.
I panicked and sent Robbie a text asking for a call back. He jumped in and helped talk me through a possible solution, then pointed me in the right direction for the correct replacement part. I'll have to have one sent out next day air. Local dealership has zero on the shelf.

Gumby and his wife are going to convoy down together with us. Departure is planned for 2:00 pm Wednesday.
I think worst case a few short pieces of various hose sizes and generous use of hose clamps can fix that.
Made A LOT of calls. No one was willing or able to ship the part today, so I made even more calls. Found a junkyard with a Jaaaaag soooooo, the boys and I made a trip.
Found a similar 90 degree fitting so we'll cobble something together.
And bonus, a nice fender in the correct color for after the challenge. ($75)
You can get splices for that nylon tubing at any parts store. Looks like you nipped enough extra length to add to your existing line and just make a short horizontal loopy-thing.
Good work!
I had lots of help today, but Still haven't gotten the car running yet. So of course I did a quick last minute ( budget exempt) brake job.
Then moved on to vinyl. It was my first attempt with this stuff and it is way more work than I imagined.
I'm glad I settled on the silver instead of the green.

Assuming y'all stop along the way you'll be there noonish Thursday?

Maschinenbau has graciously offered to let us crash at his place for the night ( and check out Datsaniti). That's Atlanta, so not sure when we'll leave in the a.m. However, yes, straight to Gainesville from there, so should be fairly early.
My cobbled together hose fix seemed to hold up to and from work today.
Did the driver's side Leaper:
And I ruined the fender trying to use touch up paint (base coat and clear coat two step)
Oh, and the hood. I destroyed this beautiful hood:
In reply to Indy-Guy :
Time to add more vinyl. Or contact paper. Or possibly wallpaper. Maybe some paper mache?
Can't believe I missed this build until now. Great looking Jaaaaaaag.
I vote for muscle-car flat black spray bomb on the hood, with some classy, subdued silver pinstripes.
Honestly, some fresh rusto gloss black spray will make that hood and fender look good enough for the Challenge. You'll have to strip it all off anyway for bodywork in the future.
Alternatively, paint the hood and fenders neon day-glo orange and green. That will make the eyes hurt in a different way than the scratches did.
You'll need to log in to post.
