Oil leak may have calmed down some, but not gone completely. I've also been smelling some fuel lately, so going to check on the lines underhood and in/through the trunk.
My 15" tires are mounted ($60). I had new front/rear brake pads ($30) come in this past weekend, so I'm hoping to run through and do new pads all around, bleed the brakes, and then put the 15s back on and ditch the Honda wheels. My Driver's side rocker/quarter panel Patch panel ($80) came in as well, which is good news. I am (hopefully) picking up and LT1 6MT C4 Corvette this week or next for challenge money, which would send this little bugger along the road. (AngryCorvair has dibs)
New total ~$1170 + $128 in tools + gas. Probably put 250 miles on it so far! This car has been fun and was a good purchase, but I don't think I'm drinking the kool-aid as hard as I expected to - probably because the shocks aren't great and the interior could use some fixin'. Still been great to leave the top down and cruise to the grocery store, though!

I might be able to come up with a set of NB shocks (Bilstein) ,tophats, and springs. I'll go hunting through the mess later today.
Front brakes done and 15s back on. Sweet stagger right now. I'm busy this weekend but will try to get rear brakes and wheels on Sunday
Rear brakes done, they were a pain though. I also knocked/peeled at some of the rust on the driver's side as a start for replacing some metal.
Trying to knock out some of the worst stuff before I end up listing it!
Dug into the rust today. Skin cut away (more than I have a pic of), lots of inner structure hanging on by a few spot welds.
Who knew fall could be so busy! Been hunting for time to keep working on this and it's been far between. We're also getting a new street, so haven't been able to use the driveway in about 3 weeks.
But, with the addition of the Challenge Austin Healey, my wife requested I reduce to 4 vehicles - no real room (or desire) to argue that! Super reasonable for all she puts up with of my stuff.
After cutting the inner reinforcement out, it did take me two tries to get a 16 gauge reinforcement made. It's not perfect but it will be hidden by the outer skin anyway. Should add more strength than the rusted hulk that was in there (I hope!).
I started burning it in yesterday and should be done tonight or Sunday, then I can fit/work on the outer!
Got the outer on today. Could use some more sanding/cleanup work on the welds but they came out alright. It's better than what was there, and the door still shuts. I guess next will be some bondo/seam sealer, then primer again and rock chip paint!
I've continued to rack up miles on this through the winter, wherever there were dry days! It's been great for errands, and I always run top down.
Now that it's finally warm, the top goes down easier - but this week the window still split pretty heavily in upper Drivers corner, major bummer! It has been a blast, but I am expecting to have to sell it this summer.. I can't fit a carseat in this, and my wife won't drive it (despite liking it). If I sell it I can register/insure my BMW, which at least has a backseat, and limit myself to 3 project cars (big yikes).
