Just don't get to the berking buggies. Those were way too uncontrollable/fast/crash-happy and I loved playing RC Pro Am until I got to that level and then it was frustragequit time.

I mounted a receiver hitch I bought from a member of the Canadian Delica forum. It mounts with two brackets that are attached with one larger bolt each through the "frame" rail, and two M10 8.8 grade bolts each side that are threaded into welded nuts that are part of the chassis. I don't plan to tow with it, but want to get a bike rack. The hitch has three receivers on it. I understand the middle one, but don't understand the two outer ones. I was think about using them as places to use a D-ring for off road recovery, but with the way the hitch is mounted do you guys think that is a bad idea?

Yeah, I'm sorry about that The pics looked better on my phone. I will try to get some with the spare out of the way.

How big are those two bolts "through the "frame" rail"? I'd upgrade those to high grade (10.9 in metric, 8 in SAE), then you could probably lift the whole van by the hitch.

Better pics now:

Z-shaped bracket held in with large bolt through frame rail, and two M10 8.8 grade bolts into the unibody. You can see their shiny heads in the right side of the picture.

Bolt through frame closer up:

Another angle showing the bracket, and the large bolts that go through the receiver to the bracket:

The undercarriage showing how clean this thing is:

I was on the beach with it on Sunday, so there could be some sand and salt left behind, but I washe dit pretty well.

The extremely long rear drive shaft:

On the beach:

New sticker on my RX-7, just because. I found it while cleaning the garage:

Love the van and your other cars for that matter. Please don't use it during the winter, the underside looks spotless from the trailer hitch pics you posted, and it would be a shame to get it all salty or oily. For small money you could get a winter beater corolla, civic or truck if that's what you are into and not care about salt getting into every little crevice and starting rust.

I think your hitch is fine for a D ring, or one of these:

or if you want one that looks like a sweet alien claw:

I have a winter vehicle, don't worry about that. A 2wd Suburban in snowy New England at that. I do worry about the salt even from the beach, but I won't be going out there too much, so I don't think it will be an issue as long as I stay out of the water, and wash it after each trip.

Won a few stickers from JNC this week. Added this on to the Delica:

Seeing the hitch bracket better makes me think it's plenty strong.
