The giant silver dash mounted tach needs to get transferred over as well.

And, when doing stuff like this, ive found cutting the needed sheetmetal from the donor beyond the spot welds by 8 inches or so and drilling/separation on the bench makes it a hell of a lot faster, easier, and with better results.

Did a quick test fit and welded in the timing cover engine mount today.  Starting fabbing in prep for the north and south mounts.  Didn't take any pics after the little bit of welding, ran out of the garage in a hurry for family holiday festivities.  Here's a quick teaser

This project is so cool! I have always loved the mirage. This will be a huge build but one that when finished will be something to marvel at. Im in to follow along.

Ill never forget the first time I saw a swapped mirage. It will forever be etched in my mind. My dad and I were in Miami for an import event with his skyline. I would say this was 2003 or 2004. It was late and everyone was street racing. We were doing 40mph rolls. It was us, a pulsar gtir and a supercharged NSX. All cars were making roughly 500hp. We lined up 3 wide then out of nowhere a blue mirage pulls up to make it 4 wide. Horn goes and that little lancer WALKED US like we were standing still. We later heard that it was a DSM swapped car making 650 or 700hp. Back then was crazy high. I never saw the car again that night but ill never forget it. Cheers to your project my friend I'm sure it will be epic!

I spent another 1.5hr out in the garage tonight finish up the motor mounts, they are all tacked together for the time being I'll finish welding them after I get the trans fitted.  Came out pretty well for some scrap pieces of square stock and some angle I found in the garage.  I ended up using the timing mount and front mount out of the stealth.  The rear mount I made solid and just burnt the sleeve out of the rubber mount.  I'll have to pull the motor out a few times and figure out what I am going to do with the master cylinder.  Until then the next hurdle is going to be trying to fit the trans in place. I'm sure I'll have to hack quite a bit out of the frame rails.  I am still trying to decide what's a better fit, keep the twins and upgrade to the Uber cheap dsm auto 13g's (direct drop in the turbine housing) or cheapishly go to a single and make use of this old Switzer turbo I got from the scrap yard a few years ago.  Decisions decisions.  Anywho, here's some more pics.

I removed the rear turbo for fitment on the firewall as I wasn't sure what I'd have, but turns out it seems like there is more room for the turbski in the mirage then the stealth.

So in the next days to come, I'll be fitting the trans, removing the rear subframe and suspension from the stealth and rounding up all the aftermarket parts the car has and came with so I have a thorough log.  Good stuff, I'm getting excited and really looking forward to the event even though I'm at the 5% mark. Lol.

Thanks!!

Make a pivot point and a rocker and mount the brake stuff to the right above the transmission 90* from the original orientation

I was thinking about something similar to that, my current thought was to make pivot bar in the car and put behind the dash on the pass side.  I am only worried about putting it over the trans if I decide I am going to use a single turbo on the car then Ill need all that room over the trans.

My wife had a Mitsubishi Mirage Coupe.  The door fell off in the driveway, it was 4 years old. Check the door mounts for rust before you head off at speed my man.

I think I am going to attempt to build something like this and put the master inside the car.  If not then Ill just buy a premade one but I could really do with out the $100 budget impact.

Look at the rice rod build thread here too, he built his own.  I was going to build one but my firewall shape dictated otherwise.
