I see you spent lots of time at opposite lock!
haha, the photographer requested a "slide for life" and I was obliged to make him happy. Also sideways is fun ways.
Check out the sidewall deflection on the rear tire. Bias play tires are wacky.
truck windshield got a crack in it, so I asked the glass company how much to cut the glass out of the RX7's rear hatch while they were at my place. $150....
Handed the installer $40 while he was at my place and he took care of it. Gave me his number in case I need any other glass services.
PS> RX7 hatch glass weighs 35.5 pounds
If anybody wants to help me win a plasma cutter, please vote for my caption here:

very good to know. I'm thinking of smashing mine and putting a sheet of polycarbonate in its place...
Don't want to make it seem like I'm not working on this. Oh wait I haven't been.
Waiting on some NPT taps to come in the mail so I can button the coolant system up.
In the meantime, I bought a $200 lawnmower with a "Blown" engine.
New starter, a little lube and 1 day sitting with marvel mystery oil in the cylinder and BAM. Mowed my lawn like a boss.
Cleaned up pretty well with some dawn and a magic eraser followed by a shot from the pressure washer.
Camera decided it didn't want to take photos last night.
Got the water pump housing drilled and tapped for my new temp sensor, cleaned a lot of things out "while I was in there," including cleaning out the radiator. Car is mostly buttoned back up beyond the radiator, which is remaining out for now so I can make a better fan shroud.
Also installed a heat shield above the header to help reduce under hood temps.
Still need to figure out where the O2 sensor wires in, the stock one's wire was abraded and loose.
pin 2D. Middle plug on the computer (Plug #2) Pin "D". look for the Green wire with yellow stripe on the bottom near one of the ends. (I say one of the ends because I don't want to confuse which way the plug is facing.) A Brown wire with White stripe is on one side and a Green wire with black stripe is on the other side.
The 02 sensor should be a Green wire with Yellow stripe.

In case you were asking more generally, the wire is part of the engine harness that goes partially under the intake manifold. I do not believe there is a connector other than the one right near the 02 sensor.
02 sensor wires of this type should not be soldered. They will not work properly. The universal sensor you buy at the parts store should be crimped onto the new wire (if you run a new wire) and a wire should be run to the above mentioned pin at the computer. The universal 02 sensor will have a crimp with it.
Check your voltage after installing. It should be:
1.0 volt or below at idle after warming up.
Under acceleration (while loaded) it should be between .5V and about 1.0V.
Under deceleration, it should be 0.0V to 0.4V.
These should be checked by back-probing the 2D pin at the computer while the car is running / accelerating / decelerating.

Super helpful. Thank you
I have two bungs in the header for EGT readings that are just plugged, so I might run right from the ECU through the floor to the O2 sensor rather than dig around under the intake manifold right now.
The old O2 sensor looked OK when I pulled it out and still had a foot of wiring attached so hopefully I can reuse it.
Progress! Replaced the crusty sunroof filler with a less crusty sunroof filler. Got my rear lexan cut and started mounting it before realizing I was out of self tapping screws..... Tomorrow I'm re-mounting the radiator and filling up the coolant system with some high quality H20 and water wetter before I tie up a little wiring for autocross on Sunday.

Mazda is funny-they oooed and aaahed and bragged about the compact/low center of gravity engine.......and then put the intake and every component possible as high and far away from the engine as they could manage. An engine bay designed for something as small as a rotary shouldn't be so big a V8 has room to spare.
MrJoshua wrote: Don't know if I missed it earlier-do you have a weight for the hatch minus glass?
I weighed it whole and weighed the glass. Didn't weigh just the frame. Should be roughly 10 lbs, maybe a touch less.
I should make a chart of what things weigh.

Agreed. I'm thinking of losing the power steering and relocating the alternator to the side once I switch to my electric water pump.

Damn blenders always break.
More pics coming. This is my pattern for a fan shroud. Don't have a metal break so I used two pieces of wood and a hammer to form it up.
Sunday was autocrossing and I picked up a co-driver for the day. I won the class and he took third. Car was rock solid for temps even though it was hot as the devil's crotch (including the humidity of said region).
