1995 Astro, rwd, high top conversion. Sorry the vcr/TV combo is missing!
Pretty nasty inside. Going to need a good cleaning.
Oh yeah, and the front of the engine has been pulled apart. Will see if all the parts are there and weigh my options. Get it running, or replace.
Will ultimately be a replacement for Jean Clyde Damn Van.
All the the princely sum of $500!
That would be a perfect vehicle for camping at the track while towing the race car!
That is a lot of awesome...
With all those blues, this one could have been Stevie Ray Van.

Where do we start the petition for a name change? That is clever.

I used that line in a previous van thread here and got zero response. I'm glad it landed with someone this time.
I love how the aftermarket topper has like new paint, but the GM stuff, presumably the same age, was dead decades ago. Blues festival camper too.
My parents bought a near-new '87 Astro in the late 80s. I have mixed feelings about them - mostly contempt mixed with disgust. Looking forward to having my mind changed.
I'll just leave this here:
Hoonigan Astro Van

Oh yeah. I saw that. Tony Angelo just picked up an AWD and is toying with a typhoon idea.
Not sure how I missed this, but I am changing the name to Vando Clyde-rissian.
Off to the store for carpet cleaning supplies. It's nasty in there.
A few pics from today while I take stock of things.
PO had excellent housekeeping skills. My Opel was like that.

This is after they cleaned it!
Seems a number of parts are missing to put the front of the engine back together. I have what appears to be a timing cover missing some hardware, no pulley bolts of any kind for the crank or cam shaft. I do have the timing gears and chain. This engine has the balance shaft in it and the I have multiple gears for it. No bolts for a questionable looking water pump. All accessories appear to be in place and I have a serpentine belt. I'm going to have to piece meal the front back together without a representative model to go by nor the experience to know off hand what I need. I can look at a VW wc engine and know exactly what I'd need. But not with this. Anyone have a source for parts diagrams? I tried looking things up on RockAuto as a start, but that's limited. And, it appears the timing cover bolts are specialized and should have been retained on it.
I'll be soaking those parts in Evaporust tonight.
