I bought an engine in tubs that need assembled.
Home made valve stem installer.
Installed timing cover.

Time to start the rest of the externals.

engine was on the floor a short time ago now.
moving right along. 
Going in to town to get belt oil and filters. Things are progressing too smooth not sure what is wrong yet.

This is my challenge car this year. The Malibu next. My house sold and I am closing on the 11th so I will be moving. I needed to have it done before the move. This is a first for me not wrenching the night before I leave.
Took out for test drive. It is difficult to keep under 3k rpm. Pulls hard with part throttle. Should be a blast at full song.
Congrats on the sale! That's no small feat these days. I've had friends in Northern IN have houses on the market a looooong time.
Installed the breaks, what a pia every caliper had at least 1 stuck pin none of the pads slid.
There is an issue with the transmission. a delay between 2nd and 3rd. Where 2nd disengages and then rpms jump then third drops in. No judder then the shift to 4th is fine. Any ideas?
Looks like a common problem. I am researching a 6 speed swap for after the challenge. Not driving down, towing. Or a vq35 6 speed swap.

DOH...saw "SE-R" and immediately assumed SR20. Never looked closely at the block or valve cover - dead giveaway...now back to your regularly scheduled Challenge build thread
