Been looking at 128s on Copart, IAAI and facebook. Been having a hard time finding an unmolested 6MT car. This one came up on IAAI for sale next week, I live in Indianapolis and I'm interested in a southern, rust free car but I don't have time to see it prior to bidding. My local junkyard has N52 engines with low miles for $1500. Should I attempt to buy it?

I could rent a uhaul car trailer and borrow my uncle's diesel toureg to pick it up.

What would you spend for something like this?

Is IAAI really bad with the fees like Copart?

The car looks to be in good shape but it's pretty high mileage. I'd only bid to $800, expecting to get smacked with fees that'll bring it up to $1500.

Yeah, the fees are similar to Copart's. I was thinking $2500 Max for the car and fees. But that's kind of a gamble

If it ran I think $2500 would be reasonable.

I don't see a waterline mark on the outside or carpets, is it a hydrolocked watercrossing car?

Reverse people go through water in reverse.

If you do not absolutely, completely, 110% know when, where, and how that car was flooded the answer is no.

No comment on the flood part but it's nice that the car has the sport package which gets you the much nicer seats. And the interior overall looks incredibly clean for a flood car.

What's happening with the passenger dashboard airbag area.  It looks raised.

Though I have bought 20 cars via IAA, I'm hyper critical and fearful of flood cars.  I have never bought a flood car.
