I'd probably be into this sort of thing, except my hands shake a bit which makes soldering a pain.

As proven by my success in the first pair - you don't have to be good at soldering for them to work. It's not that many components. Might be a nice little project!

 

I've been working on these really slowly. I got the boxes glued up, since finishing them is the most time consuming part of the project.

I decided that I"m going to paint these, so this may turn out to be a mistake, but I tried using some wood filler to fill the exposed end grain in hopes that I can get a nice uniform finish even on the plywood. 

 

 

Disaster? We'll see when they're dry and sanded!

I kind of gave up on updates for these but - they're finished! Up close the finish is kinda meh, but they blend right into the TV stand and look good from 5 feet. Win!
