Oh, so it's a Malibu SS? Now I get it.
I wondered if GM ever put that motor in anything smaller than my Yukon Denali then I went DUH! C7 Sting Ray. I had no idea they put in in a small sedan and now I think I want one too!

Automatic was standard equipment. Go to top right, Manual trans is shown as a zero-cost option.

SS was the largest Chevy sedan at the time. LS3 was also in Camaros of this time frame.

Supposedly really hard to get parts for? I'm parroting that but I've also had my eye on those.
In reply to Datsun240ZGuy :
I wouldn't care. I like the LWB versions once outfitted with a mix of SS/G8/CTSV components to make it look and handle properly.
Your car has her own song, "Sheila" by The Producers. Somewhat timeless guitar/synth pop from about 1988?

Damn you. That thread you posted last week or whatever made me look at them closer. I bought one too.
Pix? Thread? Dammit man, you can't just drop "I bought one too" and walk away!

I looked it up. God, I hope my car ages better than that song! 🤘🏻🤣

SS good. C7 good. Yukon good.
C7 was a gen 5 direct injection LT1. The C6 Vette got the LS3 starting in 2008. and the Camaro was built on the same Zeta platform as the Caprice, SS and other Holden variants. Lots of similarities and shared parts in the drivetrain and suspension.

I haven't even gotten it yet. I don't have time to do a fly-n-drive so it's being shipped. I would've LOVED to cruise up the coast in it right about now but oh well.
Have you checked out the SS forum? It's weird over there. And the amount of info they've gathered is crazy. A full production breakdown is rather ridiculous.
Following in the footsteps of Sabine and pretty much every DD I've ever owned...
also, it's a SSmall world after all. The dude I bought these winters from is the guy who traded in the orange SS I test drove at the Chevy dealer in AnnArbor a few weeks back.
Winters have been scrubbed inboard and out, and are now ready for storage. Michelin X-Ice Snow, 245/40/19, two dated 2421 and two dated 4721, on decent looking aftermarket 19x8 rims, with spline drive lug nuts and socket, for $400.
Can't be mad at that.

Well Angry, how you liking it so far?
How many miles have you put on it?
In reply to gsettle :
Since I don't have a daily commute, I'm not really piling on the miles. She's at 43500 plus or minus a few, and OMG I LOVE THIS CAR.
$400 !!!
$50 tires and $50 wheels. Killer deal on an off-season buy!
I think its a conservative estimate new as $350 tire and $300 wheel = 650 x 4 = $2,600
$400 is just a little more than 15% of the cost of new.
