In reply to Flight Service: I think so too but they require some careful preplanning to use in ways they are most effective.. I'll still butt weld the ends of the tubes I'll overlap those joints with gusset plates and use the adhesive and rivets approach. If the total weight of gussets, adhesives, and rivets exceeds 5 pounds I'll just have to go on a diet to offset the additional 6 ounces..
