I've had this car for a few years now. I've been running events mostly with New England Region SCCA rallyx and AMEC ice racing. Bought it for $1000 (actually bought 2 of them and kept the better one) after it was parked under a tree for a few years by the p/o. Interior was pretty ruined, rear wheel bearings shot.

Started with my MK4 VW Jetta Wagon 1.8T. It was kinda bad on loose stuff being a FWD wagon, so it was strictly DD/tarmac racing duty. I added Ground Control coilovers/Koni sport shocks, 28mm RSB, 255/40R17 Hankook RS3s, and a United Motorsports tune. I've never driven a more neutral wagon that liked to trailing-throttle oversteer. Sold this for a 1994 supercharged Miata and a 2004 Subaru STI daily.

Gravel shot-peened my quarters apart after a few events:

Blew up my first motor after bringing it to Thompson Motor Speedway after it ran a ball bearing through the timing belt. Limped it home with one cam gear 30 degrees retarded.

Using my Jetta's winter tires for some ice racing:

Stop sign skid plate:

Rust was pretty bad:

Now I'm in the process of swapping to a mostly rust-free OBD 1 shell. Time to explore motor swap/RWD possibilities!

Drop in an H6 out of the svx or outback and throw an LSD into the back, convert to RWD.

Factory R160 rear diff is vlsd. The diff and axles don't really handle RWD too well. I would have to do a 240sx rear diff and driveshaft to go that route.

Had a friend CNC a delete plate for the factory dual-stage booster. Running a smaller bore Honda Civic master for hopefully the same pedal feel. Should help a ton with left-foot braking. Also plumbing in a hydro e-brake and interior proportioning valve.

Made a switch plate to house horn switch and a hidden bluetooth radio for tunes.
